So, I called you a name eh?? Just hope I don't really call you a thing or two. The .223 is a great selling caliber because everyone and his uncle are making AR15's these days and everyone and his uncle seem to be buying them. That's pretty much it. It is FAR from a great caliber even for military use. The military for years has been contemplating on adapting a more potent round. And lets not even get into it being ideal for deer hunting. LOL

No one is breaking laws, but the problem is that hunting behind a fence is not HUNTING in the truest sense of the word. In my view shooting animals behind a fence should be called something else other than hunting. I guess I just don't get why anyone would want to take an animal in a place like that? What is there to show off or brag about other than showing everyone that you have the money to go to a place like that? As of others have said, I would have higher regard for the hunter who killed the dinkiest of free-ranging deer in comparison to someone who killed one of these fenced in giants.
-
I once watched a show like that set in Michigan. Yeah right, like Michigan or Pennsylvania has those type of bucks running around in their free-ranging herds? LOL It's funny how they forget to tell you that the place is probably fenced in better than a maximum security prison. That along with the price tag to hunt these caged animals is enough to keep the place under "low pressure". LOL

You are kidding, right?? Maybe some won't but I've seen more than one run for the next county!

When Roy Rogers' horse Trigger died, he had him mounted. Ole Roy always said that when he died he wanted to be skinned, mounted and put on top of Trigger. Don't think he got his wish, though! LOL
-
Good luck with that one! Of course if you get yourself mounted after you do die, you might be able to stick around a bit longer.
-
That display would look great on the Biz-R-O family plot! LOL
-
Hell, that almost looks like it's displayed on top of a coffin.

I have a couple that are older than yours. I am actually HOPING that they would fall apart so that I could have a good excuse to get rid of them. Honestly, one grows tired of looking at these things. All they really become are dust collectors. A nice picture in a photo album is all one really needs to bring back memories of a past hunt.

Oh you ALMOST lucked out, for I almost missed your stupid reply here. Our engagement in Iraq was NOTHING compared to what we faced in WWII and you damn well know it. If it was anything like WWII we would no doubt have been undergunned with the pipsqeek .223 in comparison to the M1 30-06 we carried in WWII, which of course also shot FMJ rounds You know, you are so full of it, it isn't even funny. I may be a stupid idiot but find me ONE experienced deer hunter out there who would recommend a .223 as a primary deer round to anyone like you were trying to do in Doc's thread?? Sorry, but you or your fathers experience don't count for JACK$#!+ here. We all know that any gun can kill a deer in the perfect situation, but to keep touting that the .223 will do the job just as well as the other standard deer rounds is downright laughable. You are making your self look MORE stupid with every post, this I can assure you. And since I am at it, what's up with your stupid "Guns&ReligionCop" handle?? What makes you think you are a cop of either of these two topics?? Should we assume that you are an authority on these topics?? From some of the things you have written on this forum, you don't seem to be an authority on anything I'm sorry to say.

I couldn't imagine spending $600 on a ML. You can get a ML for less than half that and it will kill deer as dead as you need them to be. It's your money, so you can spend it anyway you want. But for a gun I definitely will not be using more than a couple of days per year, I sure won't go spending a lot of money on.

Those two couldn't decide whether to watch horn porn or naked girl porn.

Whether a taxidermy'd fish looks nice or not makes NO difference to me, that's for sure. Any fish I would ever catch will be going into the frying pan and then into my stomach in that order. The taxidermist will never get the chance to make it look good or ugly! LOL

I think the best way to give venison, is to give them something that is already prepared to eat. This way you can prepare it properly and the person can get a taste of how good it can really be. Just giving raw venison to people fails more times than not. People just screw it up in the cooking since they have never prepared it before and typically come to the conclusion that it tastes like crap.

The most truthful statement in this thread. Since the US military has been using the .223 we have yet to win a war decisively. It can't kill humans well, and many in the military have been wanting to adapt a more potent round, so I am supposed to believe that it will be sufficient for deer?? LOL
-
Maybe they were shooting at zombie's with their AR-15's or AK-47's? It seems like this type of shooting is the fad these days. One don't buy guns such as these with large capacity magazines to fire one round every 5 minutes. Not knocking anyone here, just trying to explain what might be happening here.

New York is one of 5 States to extend school hours and days
steve863 replied to Deerthug's topic in General Chit Chat
And that's exactly why we are behind other nations in the academics department. Because what is "well rounded" in our eyes is NOT up to par with other educational standards. In other countries you go to school to LEARN, and not to BS with football, wrestling, or any other sport. More time in school actually LEARNING just might produce smarter students? -

That's exactly the tune the schools sing in support of sports. I don't buy it though. Yes, some students can benefit from sports, where it can help them with their academics, but those students are actually in the minority. The majority of those who get wrapped up in sports have these dreams of making it to the pros and such, and a very, very few actually ever get there. For most of these students it would have been way better if the actually concentrated on learning something instead of wasting time on sports. By the way, if youngsters are interested in sports, there are other avenues where they could get involved with it. Like private organizations. Why should tax dollars be spent on sports, when we are told that it is supposed to go for education? Cut out the sports and there will be MORE left for actual education. -

+1000! If schools would devote some of the time and energy to other things besides sports we might be competitive with other nations in the education department. Between gym classes in school and after school sports programs, students devote way too much time to sports. We have freakin athletes going to college with sports scholarships that can barely read. There is something wrong with that big time. Only reason these clowns are in college is because the colleges can make big money off their sports programs. And the irony of it all is that even with all the sports programs we have in elementary, high school and college our youth are by far in worse shape and grow even worse as they age in comparison to other nations. So what good is it doing?? Absolutely NONE! Put more emphasis on actual education, and we might get somewhere. -
Since this guy was wearing full camo during gun season I was thinking it might be Bubba. But the guy in the picture is a bit slim to be Bubba. LOL

Does Biz-R-O's mount count as a "Mountain Lion in NY"???
-
I don't even remember seeing this post back then. I gotta say not many around here kill such deer consistently as Lawdwaz, that's for damned sure. Many talk big stories of passing up the little ones, yet have $#!+ to show for it as far as actual kills of the big ones on such a regular basis. LOL My hats off to you man! You're a lean, mean, big buck killin machine!
-
Biz-R-O did you see that?? That's just the vehicle for you if I ever saw one. You could hang all your mounts on it! LOL
-
LOL, I can just see Belo riding around town with one of those with a buck strapped to the hood, and honking the horn to gather attention from everyone. LOL If the scrawny buck fails to impress anyone, then he starts juggling bowling pins. LOL

Boy, that comparison chart is so full of it. Why didn't it list "ability for a quick follow-up shot"? You know damned well that someone with a compound bow can fire a second shot WAY quicker than someone with a crossbow, but of course they forget to mention this just to make that crossbow look more dasterdly! If you don't think there isn't an advantage to have a quick follow-up shot, you haven't been hunting too long.
