Lookin' good!! -
Wow!! Sure is nice to look at!!

The one and only issue that I had with shooting thunderheads is that they did not fly like my fieldpoints. I had to sight my bow in again, just for broadheads, each year. Then I switched to Rage... temporarily. Last year, mid-season, I switched to the basic-no-fancy-name-Muzzy. Those suckers fly just like my fieldpoints and are reliable! Inexpensive too! The only reason I didn't go back to thunderheads, was that I wanted to try another fixed head to see how they flew, since I already knew I'd have to change my sights with the thunderheads. Never heard any complaints about Muzzys either.

That is one bruiser of a 6pt!!

What's your best remedy for poison ivy?
Cabin Fever replied to First-light's topic in General Chit Chat
I use to be able to roll in the stuff and never get it until I turned ~40. Now I get it almost every year. I don't get it bad, just a couple small spots, but it still sucks! -

What's your best remedy for poison ivy?

Best Remedy? Avoid it!! That stuff sucks! Just took my son to the doctor for it, had it all over his legs. Doctor gave him steroids and it cleared up in 2-3 days. -

Wow, is it that time of year again? This comes up every year... For more, just do a search in the foodplot forum... http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/11943-looking-into-the-legality-of-food-plots/?hl=baiting#entry150524 -
I fell for the Rage hype. First few deer I shot, I swore I'd never use another broadhead. Massive bloodtrails! Then, don't know if something changed in the broadheads or what, but I started losing deer, even with perfect shots! I lost more deer in 2 years with Rage 2 blade, then I had lost in the previous 32 years combined! Do yourself a favor and use google to do more research on Rage. After losing the last one with Rage, I said the hell with them, cut my losses, and switched to Muzzy half way through the season. The next 3 deer I shot, ended up in my freezer!! Back to your original question though, I don't think you can go wrong with either a Muzzy or Slick Trick. Don't think I've talked to anyone that has had anything bad to say about either one. Muzzy's have been around for a long time and fly beautifully for me, just like my field points. Slick tricks sound quite impressive too, but I have never used them.

I shot Thunderheads for years and killed many deer with them. Shoot Muzzys now and I'm happy with them.

Becareful, Best laid plans of mice and men!

OUCH!! Man that's too bad! Best wishes to your Dad for recovery! I'm sure he'll have a long road ahead of him... Thanks for the reminder! Gotta be safe, but keep in mind, that accidents do happen. -
I would absolutely use it! Like Paula said, it took 2 (+) days to completely thaw anyway. Cook it up! I wouldn't wait much longer though!

Bet a cart would be nice for getting a bear out too, as they don't seem to have any good "handles"!
-
Curious who uses one of those deer carts and how easy are they for getting deer out of areas with no paths? Are some better than others? Debating...

Thanks for the info. I guess even a dead cooling fan base (concaved shaped) is still keeping the laptop up off the couch, bed, carpet, etc..., so the laptop can breath/cool.
-
I was told by a couple of people to "be sure to use a laptop cooling fan", to prevent my laptops from over heating. They are on ~16hrs/day. In the past 18 months, I've gone through 4 cooling fans (~$40/each), between the two laptops. Both are dead, again, and I'm wondering if they are really necessary?

Just dealt with a round of those SOB's myself! To give you an idea, one day I killed about 200 carpenter ants in my foyer! I had never seen anything like it! The next day, out of desperation, I sprayed Sevin where I suspected they were coming from (some rotten wood under my roof, where I use to have a leak), and also along the perimeter of the rooms where we were getting them. Within 2 days, they were ALL gone! Haven't seen any since! First time I had ever used the liquid Sevin for ants, but I was very impressed!

Looking for a rabbit breeder in CNY area
Cabin Fever replied to First-light's topic in General Chit Chat
My daughter wanted a Holland Lop, so we bought her one a little over 2 years ago. He actually has the run of the family room in the basement. As far as spraying, he has only done that 1x, when we first brought him home. BTW, we have white walls and painted concrete floors, and would surely know if he did spray! We keep him well stocked with apple branches to chew on, which has really helped with his chewing, as he never chews on the moulding or anything "bad" anymore. Have to keep electrical wires protected, as we don't want to take any chances. We got him fixed at ~12 weeks old (I think). His urine use to have a strong musky odor, but it hasn't at all since getting him fixed. He uses his litter box 100% of the time when urinating and probably 90% of the time with the poop balls! There is no odor from his litter box at all, since getting him fixed. (We change it daily.) Downside, they just aren't as affectionate, playful, or as social as other pets. If your daughter is hoping for that, she's gonna be disappointed and might want to choose another pet! Sadly, we just came to the conclusion that we should give my daughters bunny away. My daughter is 14, is always off doing something with friends, spending the night, days away, having friends over, etc..., and the bunny just doesn't get the attention that it should be getting. My wife and I are always stepping in and giving him attention, changing litter, etc... Plus, he sheds like worse than any friggin' dog I've ever seen! We're constantly brushing him too! We just found a good home for him with friends of ours that have a farm. Before getting a bunny for your daughter, I'd suggest that you seriously look into it and see what she is expecting out of it. They're not a teddy bear that you just keep on the shelf and play with it when it's convenient for them, it's a live animal, and it has needs... -
Congrats! Best of luck and I hope you enjoy Indiana!
