  1. They were calling for 10-15", but we only got 6".
  2. Hunting a ~2000 acre property that only allows gun hunting for 5 days and limits to 25 hunters/day by lottery draw. In the first 4 days of season, only 3 does were killed!! WTF!! Absolutely PATHETIC!! I walked ~1/4 mile to and from my stand this afternoon in the fresh snow and never cut a track. When I checked out tonight, I was told that no deer were seen today by any of the hunters. Moral of the story, be thankful and don't take for granted if you have a decent place to hunt. A wise man (Jack Daniels?) once said, "Sometimes you just need to say, WTF!?!?"
  3. I hope their parents are proud. Don't want to say what I would do to my kids if I found out they were doing something like this!
  4. Live from the doctors office. My wife was afraid to drive in this messy weather and was going to cancel her doctor's appt. Next available appt (mamo) wouldn't be until March! Screw that! Bagged the morning hunt and drove her. Should be home in time to hunt the afternoon. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. Congrats! I was beginning to think there weren't any deer left in 8J!!
  6. Wow! Very nice! Congrats!
  7. Good choice! I research the snot out things before I purchase, reading thousands of reviews. I purchased the CVA Optima V2 with stainless barrel this past spring. Also the BH209, with breach plug of course. I bought the CVA cleaning kit, that included the foaming blaster cleaner. Did you get the model with the CVA scope mounts? I highly recommend either checking the bottom scope mounts and/or putting a dab of Loc-tight on them, before installing the scope. As I was just getting my Optima dialed in, things started to get screwy for no reason. Started out small, but then I could barely keep the shots on the paper. LONG story short and after a lot of wasted loads, I finally realized the bottom part of the scope mount was very loose! I guess since they came installed right from CVA, I trusted they were sufficiently tightened. I took the scope off, and put a dab of Loc-tight on the screws that secures the mount to the gun and tightened. After that, I was able to get it shot in with out a problem.
  8. I use the scent crusher bag as well. I usually do 30 min. So you can smell it, what's the big deal?
  9. I use the same ones, but the Barnes Spitfire T-EZ's in 290gr came recommended to me. I just got my CVA Optima in the spring, so I haven't had the opportunity to see how the bloodtrails will be with the Barnes Spitfire T-EZ's yet. This place has some of the best prices that I've been able to find on things that I've been looking for. https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/
  10. This site has a wealth of info that I found very helpful when I was first looking for a muzzleloader and selecting loads. https://www.modernmuzzleloader.com/
  11. Same experience here! No blood with Powerbelts.
  12. Hunt #50 in the books. At a stand I haven't been to in 3 weeks. Dead as F out here.... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. In a stand I haven't hunted in ~3 weeks. Can still see many acorns on the ground. Hoping that will be the draw this afternoon. Haven't even seen a squirrel yet... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. Only saw 3 squirrels this morning. Heard 2 distant shots. Decided to head in for lunch and to warm up. Heading back out at 1:00... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  15. He's the one and only person that I've ignored/blocked also and I just did this today. You can block if someone quotes him too, so you don't see that either. When you ignore someone, there's boxes to check: Posts, Messages, Signature and Mentions (/quotes). Be sure to check the "Mentions" box, that way you don't even see when someone quotes the person. POOF... GONE!!!
  16. When you click on "Ignore", check the boxes if you want to block their posts, messages, or mentions (quotes). ALL of Stormy's posts go bye-bye! POOF... GONE!! It is a blessed Thanksgiving!!!
  17. I was finally motivated enough to block/ignore someone for the first time. You can choose to ignore when someone quotes them as well, so you never have to see their posts again... ever... Thank you Jesus!!!
  18. I've only heard people say good things about them. I'm surprised to hear the hate! My wife has been talking about getting one. Quick, easy and now we're just cooking for the two of us since the kids left the nest.
  19. Congrats to your Dad and cherish those hunts. I envy guys that still have their Dad's to hunt with.
