Cabin Fever

Laid in bed looking at the clock thinking the alarm (on my phone) should be going off soon. It never went off. No big deal, I'm awake anyways. I get up, shower, get dressed, get the coffee going, look at the clock in the kitchen and realize I never turned back the time on the clock in the bedroom (since we use our alarm on our phones)!! Damn it!! Up an hour earlier than I needed to be!! UGH....

That wind is freezing!! Sure looking forward to the hot roast and veggies awaiting me in the crock pot when I get home! And a nice tall glass of whiskey to top off that warm fuzzy feeling too!!! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I'm off for 2 weeks now. The first couple weeks of season started out promising with a few sightings, but the last couple weeks have sucked! Seen 2 deer in my last 12 hunts, so it's getting REAL hard to get out of bed anymore. Even the cams aren't showing much activity. I wish I could say it beats going to work, but I do love my job...

I feel your pain! In the last 12 hunts, I've only seen 2 deer!! I see all the reports of bucks on the move and chasing, but can't help but wonder WTF is going on in my area!? I checked 2 cams near a stand that I haven't hunted recently, but only have pics of 3 deer passing by in the past 9 days!!! I'm off for the next 2 weeks, so hopefully something will flip the switch and get those bucks moving!!

Taking some training in Rochester tomorrow. PAINED me to sign up for it, being Nov. 1st, but I'm off the next 2 weeks, so I guess I'll live...

Sooooooo Close!! At 7:45am, I had this guy 30 yards away walking straight to me! I was ready to fill my tag out!! All of a sudden, he goes on high alert and starts looking to my right. Then, I heard banging and crashing getting closer, WTF??? The neighbor decided to drive in at 7:45am on an old logging road ~80 yards away to go retrieve honey bee hive boxes that he had out!! The buck took a couple of bounds back into the thicket and was gone!! Damn it!!! If the freekin' guy would have been 5 min later, this all would have turned out differently!! This is the first time I've laid eyes on this buck! The pics just don't justice to his rack or body size! I think if I put in enough time at this stand, our paths will cross again!

Haven't even seen a deer in my last 8 times out! Cams have shown very little activity too. Took the day off to see if things have picked up out there yet.

Imagine my surprise when I pop in the SD card to check pics and this rack is the very FIRST pic on my screen! It was like it was staged! LOL He showed up a few times last week.
