  1. Sorry to hear Poppy! That's terrible, but could have been much worse. I hope it wasn't due to someone screwing with your stand! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. Congrats Lawdwaz! He's a beauty! God I hope that gun's unloaded!!
  3. Wow! Congrats Perry! He's a dandy!
  4. That's awesome! Congrats to you and your son!
  5. Sweet! I use a .300 Win Mag too. Just be careful, they tend to make a mess! I try not to tuck it too close to the shoulder. You won't have to worry about bloodtrails though! LOL Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  6. Congrats on the dandy buck Brian! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  7. I bought a CVA Optima earlier this year and got a Nikon P3 4-12x BDC scope for it. If your shots are all under 100 yards, you certainly don't need a 4-12x BDC though.
  8. Funny when I'm at the office, I gaze out the window and think about what I could be missing from my stand. When I'm in my stand not seeing anything (the norm), I think I should have gone to work and all the stuff that I have to do. I haven't even seen a deer in the past 10 days or so! That just adds to the frustration.
  9. Oh I disagree! I've seen 18 deer in 45 hunts (174 stand hours) and still don't have any meat in the freezer. I passed up a few small bucks, but I have no regrets. I'm frustrated, physically and mentally whooped and drag myself out of bed to go hunting anymore. Yesterday, the alarm went off to go hunting, and after some consideration, I got dressed and headed into work instead. Guess I'm one of the few people that loves their job...
  10. WOW Matt!! That's awesome! Hope all is well.
  11. Stayed on stand until 9:00, then still hunted/scouted until 10:00, before tapping out. Nadda… Giving the clothes a fresh wash, grabbing lunch, then heading back out ~2:00.
  12. Congrats! He's a dandy!! Sounds like you have a long drag ahead of you! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. Damn it!! At least it sounds like they're moving. Maybe a doe will bring him back through for you. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. From my ground blind, I can see ~500 yards in 3 directions, across a soybean field. I can see hedgerows connecting 4 woodlots, edges of woodlots, and the edge of a ~25 acre goldenrod field. Backside of a farm and completely secluded. No one else hunts the property. The nearest shot I've heard since season opened has been ~1/2 mile. If the bucks were seeking or chasing, I would surely see activity back here. Not a friggin' deer moving!! WTF!?!? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  15. Congrats! A pic would help warm me up! (Hmmm, maybe I'll suggest that to my wife too! LOL) Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  16. Is there blood where she came out of the water? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  17. NO!!!! That sucks Rob! Hopefully a big buck will follow her trail to you! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  18. Made a ground blind the other day on the backside of the property I'm hunting. Needed some new scenery and a reason to be optimistic. Come on deer... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  19. Been out exactly 45 times now, still nothing to show for it. I passed up a few small bucks, but nothing I regret. Haven't even seen a deer in almost 2 weeks. I'm just about out of gas, but not ready to give up just yet. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  20. Nothing moving here. Checked a couple cams this morning. Does and fawns together, no bucks with them or trailing. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  21. With the bad luck and few sightings I've had this year, I might need to sign up for @Culvercreek hunt club Food 2 Fork program myself next year and sit on Bob's knee in order to get a deer!
