  1. October 24th of last year I saw a lone doe walking by at 60 yards, although they shouldn’t respond to a grunt, I used the “call to prayer” tube and gave a few soft grunts. Out of the mountain Laurel nearby I hear crashing and running. An 8 ptr comes trotting in to investigate, had no idea he was there. He came home with me.
  2. When the magnolia flowers fall in May it’s like crack for the deer, their under it during the day vacuuming them up. I have to mow the lawn around them, they won’t move.
  3. Looked out my front window to find this on my magnolia tree on the lawn.
  4. After only 25 minutes her staff was giving Bret the hand slashing under the chin move, we’re done here and it abruptly ended.
  5. This was the previous picture
  6. My camera is a source of interest for the local bears, there sniffing it, licking it, doing close up selfies, but this is either an open mouth or he’s humping my trail cam.
  7. I get to my stand at 6:06 and there was a bear there at 6:04. Must of heard me coming.
  8. I’ve even had them just lie down and take a nap. My camera is set up on a well used deer trail.
  9. Low light pictures of 2 cubs who wrestled, raked a tree with their claws and sniffed my camera.
  10. Got this guy on cam then arrowed him during bow season not because I was targeting him, he just responded to a random grunt call in the same spot as the camera. Another benefit from the camera is finding out I have trespassers on my property, some guy walking his dog. I’m a mile off a paved road and have to 4x4 a logging road to access it and surrounded by 1 and 2 hundred acre private lots. Not sure we’re this guy came from.
  11. Thank you all, here’s to a safe and successful season.
  12. Ran into these 2 walking the dog tonight.
  13. I’m right across the PA border in Cochecton and got a bobcat on trail cam for the first time. Been hunting there 29 years and never saw one.
  14. Visiting Norway, Trying Reindeer steak. Darker than whitetail and taste similar to black bear.
  15. Not wearing a back tag is fine, I always said as long as it’s on your person and can produce it when stopped should suffice. Not being issued the synthetic license is what annoys me. Bottom line, the state is broke because of the shrinking tax base and their making us use our own paper. They recommend using our own ziplock bag for the paper when tagging a deer. I predict a lot of missing tags when you arrive at your destination and find the tag missing from the deers ear.
  16. Scary thing is this actually happened at my job last week.
  17. While entering an auditorium to give a campaign speech in Milwaukee in 1912, Theodore Roosevelt was shot at point blank range. The bullet passed thru his eyeglass case and the folds of his speech. Despite pleas from staffers to go to the hospital, TR refused and with a bullet lodged in his chest and blood trickling down his shirt gave a 90 minute speech with no microphone or speakers. He apologized to supporters for not speaking louder as he had just been shot. Theodore Roosevelt, the original badass.
  18. The way your starting your day is completely different than the way they started theirs 6-6-44. We will remember them.
