  1. I got one for 3H with 2 pref points.Thats the good news, the part that hurt is the $98 for the super sportsmens lic..ouch.
  2. I'll let you know sat. I have 2 pref. points already.Opening day last year I lost track of how many does walked past me.Although the only one that mattered was the doe that ran past me at 3pm being chased by a 7 pointer. ;D
  3. When you say Belvedere,Do you mean belvedere Junction, belvedere center or belvedere mountain which is about 4 miles east of Bel. center?I see that last years take in zone C all came from the extreme eastern part of that zone,Nothing to the west of it.
  4. Oct 15 -20 with an either sex tag
  5. I drew a tag in area c.I did get a guide. He's not cheap,But he comes with a good reputation and he's fairly well known.I could have hired a local yokel,But I wanted someone who I know is going to show up on opening morning, not late or hung over.In short,Its a once in a life time tag in a good zone, probably my only moose tag in the lower 48 I'll ever win.I have a place in central vermont,Sugarbush area that I could do a DIY,But not this far north.
  6. John ,I see they increased the dmp's for 3H.With 2 preferance credits I might get one this year.
  7. Ah..Newfoundland,I just reread the post .Good luck.
  8. Pygmy,Where are you hunting moose,I was lucky enough to draw a tag in Vermont this year.I'll be using my .308 180 grain.
  9. Um..First line of your posting,You sort of mispelled the word chigger,Burmjohn fixed it.
  10. CBX,You may want to reread that first line.freudian slip?
  11. More importantly than the hunting,in light of the 31 GI's we lost today,Thank you for your service and be safe in any future deployments.
  12. Just think,Those bucks are buddies now,But in 2 months they'll be fighting and deadly enemy's.Its amazing what females will do to us.
  13. Has any one ever used or heard of Spike horn ridge outfitters in Vermont.Im planning a moose hunt in October and Im shopping around for a reputable guide.
  14. Pictures will be posted,But first I still have to locate a local guide,Which is not easy.Theres not a lot of guides in VT,At least not in that area.
  15. Bballhunter,Did you have any luck in N.H. 3 years ago? Was it difficult to find an outfitter?
  16. I've put in now for 9 years in Maine,N.H and VT,With VT being the hardest, odds wise to draw. And thats the first one I got.Go figure.
  17. First thing tomorrow,I'll have to research an outfitter in the wmu I've been selected for.I hear they book up quick.
  18. Of the 455 tags,45 were for non residence hunters.If 2000 N/R hunters applied and 45 tags issued..........Holy crap,what odds! My wife's breaking my chops,"Why can't you ever win a $ lottery".
  19. After applying for 9 years I was shocked to see my name among the VERY luck winners in the Vermont Moose lottery today.12,600 people applyed and 455 tags were issued.
  20. my german short hair pointer is allergic to wheat.I feed him venison and rice dry dog food made by natures choice. You can get it at petco.
  21. Soon,we'll hear of a mountain lion sighting in Nassau also .
  22. The article doesnt state exactly where in Wurstboro.
