On the 17th/18th,Hallockville farm is having its annual Agricultural fair,Not a bad afternoon.
  2. Power went back on thur afternoon in Cold Spring Harbor after 5 days.I just went 5 days without the outdoor chanel.Started to get withdrawl symtoms I.E. shakes, night sweats, cranky. But all better now.
  3. Same here john,Ferns all over. But they die off after the first freeze.
  4. We got hit hard in the Cold Spring Harbor ,Long Island area.Tree's down every where,On top of houses. One fell in my back yard and missed my boat by 2 feet.We have no power and were told its going to be 2 to 5 days before its restored.
  5. We suffered big damage here on Long Island,This is the picture im sending FEMA.
  6. Just think in about another month, when that testosterone kicks in,Their going to be bitter enemy's.What females do to us!
  7. I would recomend the Shelburne museum in Shelburne Vermont. They have the collection of James Watson Webb,A avid hunter of the 1920's,30's and 40's.A very impressive display of alaska yukon moose, full grizzley mounts, Big horn sheep, caribou ect.And an impressive display of vermont made fire arms of the 18th and 19th centurys.Well worth the stop if your in the northern Vermont area.
  8. I got one for 3H with 2 pref points.Thats the good news, the part that hurt is the $98 for the super sportsmens lic..ouch.
  9. I'll let you know sat. I have 2 pref. points already.Opening day last year I lost track of how many does walked past me.Although the only one that mattered was the doe that ran past me at 3pm being chased by a 7 pointer. ;D
  10. When you say Belvedere,Do you mean belvedere Junction, belvedere center or belvedere mountain which is about 4 miles east of Bel. center?I see that last years take in zone C all came from the extreme eastern part of that zone,Nothing to the west of it.
  11. Oct 15 -20 with an either sex tag
  12. I drew a tag in area c.I did get a guide. He's not cheap,But he comes with a good reputation and he's fairly well known.I could have hired a local yokel,But I wanted someone who I know is going to show up on opening morning, not late or hung over.In short,Its a once in a life time tag in a good zone, probably my only moose tag in the lower 48 I'll ever win.I have a place in central vermont,Sugarbush area that I could do a DIY,But not this far north.
  13. John ,I see they increased the dmp's for 3H.With 2 preferance credits I might get one this year.
  14. Ah..Newfoundland,I just reread the post .Good luck.
  15. Pygmy,Where are you hunting moose,I was lucky enough to draw a tag in Vermont this year.I'll be using my .308 180 grain.
  16. Um..First line of your posting,You sort of mispelled the word chigger,Burmjohn fixed it.
  17. CBX,You may want to reread that first line.freudian slip?
  18. More importantly than the hunting,in light of the 31 GI's we lost today,Thank you for your service and be safe in any future deployments.
  19. Just think,Those bucks are buddies now,But in 2 months they'll be fighting and deadly enemy's.Its amazing what females will do to us.
  20. Has any one ever used or heard of Spike horn ridge outfitters in Vermont.Im planning a moose hunt in October and Im shopping around for a reputable guide.
  21. Pictures will be posted,But first I still have to locate a local guide,Which is not easy.Theres not a lot of guides in VT,At least not in that area.
  22. Bballhunter,Did you have any luck in N.H. 3 years ago? Was it difficult to find an outfitter?
  23. I've put in now for 9 years in Maine,N.H and VT,With VT being the hardest, odds wise to draw. And thats the first one I got.Go figure.
