    Man, you olg guys are full of knowledge! Great tip. Hunting some old stomping grounds saw 2 nice bucks so far. They seem to cruising today even with the warm weather. Now I just need one close enough!

    Yes all handheld GPS units at best will get you within 10 +/- feet. I play with survey grade GPS on a daily bases. Even those in densly wooded areas are as bad as 10 feet. I have used my phone in alot of conditions and it always seems to be pretty decent. The onx hunt blue dot is always moving because it uses cell towers and gps. So its constantly correcting itself.. It seems to calm down if you use one or the other.

    Its easy to give up. It only takes a minute to change your whole season!!

    Just use a smart phone if you have one. I used mine with onx this year when I went to montana. If you don't have cell service just make sure you have the map downloaded before you loose reception. It is very accurate. I wouldn't buy a GPS unit just to use onx. Phones work just as good.

    Jewel stick might work well. You can by a diamond 3 sided one pretty cheap. I use it to sharpen curved blades.

    Yeah tough situation for sure. He has the right but if you have a good relationship so why not call and see. I would be understanding though if he can't stop. The good relationship is what is key for the future.

    I might have an older climber for you. I have to look to see first. It is an older one and might be a little heavy. I am in the capital district are. Albany county if the one from Steve D doesn't work out.

    Check it now if you are worried about it. That way you aren't stinking it up the day before. It has plenty of time to rest if you get in there today.

    If you look at cabelas you can find refurbished ones that are alot cheaper. I bought one not knowing it was refurbished. The thing is brand new and works awesome.

    One doe and she had a bad limp. It was the off side so I couldn't tell if it was a wound or car.

    Nice looking buck if it is a low shot the blood should be bright red no bubbles. That would most likely be b a survivable shot.

    I have the same feeling but if you are alert you can stand up pretty easily with out them seeing you. I fidget to much standing so I sit most of the time. 9 out 10 I get to stand that 10th time usually the deer is already on high alert and he would have seen you anyways. Take a seat and relax!!! Lol

    I agree its a noise nuisance but the deer aren't going to leave unless he is right next to them. I think this bugs us more than the deer. Now if he is doing it just to piss you off thats another story. Stay seated he might push something to you.

    No deer just turkeys. This snow is making it hard to see!!!!!! The oak leaves are falling like rain. Crazy how fast they are falling.

    I can attest this is my first year buying sitka gear. I only bought it because of a 60% discount but now that I have it I can see why it is more expensive! The little things like the zippers and construction of the fabric. Plus the whole systems work well together to keep you warm and dry!
