I was getting worried this season I switched to a tab around June. Bareshafted and things looked good, only for my groups to get worse and worse. I finally switched back to a glove and boom i am back in the game. I went out to 30 yards last night first shot was in the money and then 2 low shots but the arrows were touching! I will take that. I would never shoot out at 30 but it is nice to know you can hit something. Plus it makes your groups so much better at 20! Good luck this season. Aim small Miss Small.

Try a loose grip on the bow and don't lock your elbow. You will shoot better groups with a push pull method too

I agree with this to a point. There are some heavy pockets of deer around. My in-laws cant keep plants or bushes in the ground at there place in 4H. I usually fill my DMP over there. I know of a guy that has a couple hundred acres and he says he has no where near the numbers he had 10-15 years ago. The problem is there is no real good way to report and get a solid number of actual deer in an area. I know too many people who forget or just don't report a harvest.

Yes I have seen 10-15 painted turtles at one time sunning themselves. I never thought about turtles!

I have a pond and have a good population of crayfish, bluegills, perch, fathead minnows and a triploid grass carp. The Grass carp means no plants. Which also mean i get algae growth. I blocked off a section of the pond with stones so I could put some lily's and hornwort in there to fight the algae naturally. So i put 3 decent bunches of hornwort in my pond and the next morning they were gone!!!! I know the carp couldn't get in there but I have no idea what ate the plants. The only thing that could get through the stone wall would be crayfish or minnows and I have a hard time believing they would have eating all the plants in one night. Question is what could eat all the plants in one night?

I already have a drain that runs outside. It seemed that the drain got air locked or plugged some how. I went up there and stuck a snake down and everything drained fine. It hasn't had a problem since. The bottom pan also has a drain to the outside but the ac unit sticks over on one side so if the inside pan fills up it runs down the body to that corner and drips down into the ceiling (not good). That is the reason I want to put a kill switch on it for the just in case it happened again.

I have a attic unit with two pans to catch the water. Long story short the drain plug clogged and we had an over flow! Fun times. I want to put in a kill switch in case this happen again. What is the actual cost of the switch and is it something that is easy to put in?

I smoke mine for 3-4 hours around 200 degrees. Then I do the same with the root beer in the crock pot on low if you are going to leave it all day.

Traditional fixed blade screw-in 125gr broadhead for turkey?
biggamefish replied to left field's topic in Bow Hunting
I use the Simmons tiger sharks they are deadly on animals. Another idea would be to use a string tracker. Just remenber to pull some string out and shoot it a couple time to get the string coming out easily. -
Traditional fixed blade screw-in 125gr broadhead for turkey?
biggamefish replied to left field's topic in Bow Hunting
I would still use a heavy head. Those feathers can be hard to punch through! Specially if you hit the wing but. I just read in a magazine to use a broadhead stopper like these.http://www.stickshootersupplies.co.nz/gallery/Arrow%2Bheads%2Bsmall%2Bgame/zwickey-scorpios-broadhead-stoppers/442681?view=jumbo&order=date_added OR these https://www.3riversarchery.com/replacement-claws-for-the-3rivers-tiger-claw-blunt.html. I would definitely use a cut on contact though. -
Yeah Anybody can do that at 2 yards!!!!!! J/K B.W. are definity shooters.

I think a 600 grn arrow is perfect for anything in north america. Guys are regularly taking elk with 45 lb recurves and 600 grn arrows. Heavier arrows are better all around. They hit harder and make everything much quieter. You have to remember that elk are big animals but that aren't thick skinned as per say African game.

Did Grampy get that bipod??

Be careful with WD-40. It is a solvent therefor takes all to good oils of too. If you keep up with it you don't have to worry but if you stash it for a couple months you might come back to rust!
