A couple of general camping tips for the summer
Dinsdale replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Gonna try the potato deal this weekend..... Sounds good. -
Good stuff.

Looks like some good fishing; nice pics.

Upper 30's, but honest didn't tape him and forgot to look on my license what was recorded. Seen 2 or 3 cows over tha magic 40" mark. 180gr TBBC from a 30-06......LOL, usually I'm shooting more gun, but chose something for some little guys that didn't make too much mess. It was perfect for what I needed. Took a second gratis management bull as PH needed Leopard baits for upcoming hunt. Gemsbok is awesome table fare; I'd do that NM hunt just for the meat. Fun hunting and tough animals that need good shooting.

Got to love them leaking shoulder shots on Gemsbok Grizz.... Good luck on the hunt.

"They" say its good stuff for slides. I use another non petroleum product called Prolix. Same genre of bio-degradable cleaner/lubes on the market for guns. With the Froglube you are supposed to warm the parts and then apply their CLP product for best results.

And here I though my use of a few emoticons would add a little levity to my post.

Seen nothing but good reviews even by folks who swore by the "old" standards. Haven't taken the plunge myself.

What a bunch of wimmens. Ooooo, a 300 Win Mag......it may hurt my mangina if i pull the trigger. Take up needle point if you can't figure out shot selection and bullet construction choice. Besides who cares about a cup full of meat when there is a set of antlers?

Catching anything of note? Nice pic.

Only flown a few times with a bow and more with guns; but in general if starting out I'd try for a Pelican case FWIW. My aluminum cases (Strong Case by TMB) have held up great and I have a bunch(maybe 8 or 9?), but I happen to like the rounded edges/corners on the Pelican a bit better.

I picked up this smokin' hottie brunette along a roadside once...... Turned out she was looking to get paid to handle my tool.

Sorry to see a small farm having to close shop, but good on getting a decent price for the livestock. Enjoy Maine! If you are in the southern end try to get to Kittery Trading Post, decent place to see a few guns and such. Right on RT 1.

Good stuff Dan, hope you shoot a booner;<)

I don't either; but I use them to get practice in reloading/ working the bolt with the gun up for a fast follow up. I'm not bashful about putting another round into something and like to be ready. Another useful practice is to have them loaded random in a pistol magazine along with live rounds to simulate a misfire and practice clearing the weapon at the range.

And in more than a few gun shops in Windhoek. Maybe someday I'll get you to see for yourself.

It's still fun to poke a stick at folks sacred cow choices though.

Yaa....if you're a big girl and want a sissy gun. Holland's 375......one rifle, one PLANET. Why limit yourself to North America? It'll take anything, anywhere.

I have one of her books and have seen her speak on 2 occasions.....once animal behavior/cattle related and once more on autism. Cool insight into animal behavior from a different perspective, highly recommended reading IMO.

Hope you have a great time.

What time should we be over? Favorite beverage I can bring?

A quick search will turn up that the posted link is not the only place on facebook where this image is used. Once you post something on the net....facebook.photobucket,forums.....its out there one way or the other and its hard to put the genie back in the bottle. Hey Grizz.......just got back from third trip and Africa is STILL amazing. Hope you are going back as you planned this year.
