  1. Yeah at 8am I rattled for about 90 seconds and about 5 min later I see this nice 8 coming my way. He was out about 125 yds working on a small scrub tree. The he slow walked parallel with me and i grunted him toward me. He was looking at a small 6 that I didn't see and they sparred a bit and then walked away. I could not get him to even stop when I griunted him and even tried to rattle him back to me but nope! FDirts day I didn't use estrous and the wind would have perfect for him smell it as he approached the other buck. It may have made the difference... who knows.
  2. Glad to hear it's not just here in southern Madison county. I've had decent buck on camera at like 3am to 430 but nothing better than Shit 6. Today we saw between my son and I - 3 doe, a button buck, two spikes and the shit six. Back so Thursday and Friday.
  3. Beauty!!!!!!! Real nice proactive hunting.
  4. G5 Montecs are as tough as any fixed BH on the market!
  5. I used the G5 Montec's since they came out, so for years. Switched to Rage Hypos last season and had a great kill... didn't go 35 yds and bled out dead. That being said I have would be remiss to say that I really trust the Rage's on a questionable hit. My son stilll uses only the G5 Montec's. A fixed blade like the G5's is a much tougher broadhead.
  6. Excellent!! Way to go and a great first buck.
  7. I don't know about anyone else but I'm just not seeing deer. I know they're around because I drove over to the food plot after dark about 9 and counted 9 doe. I don't see them during the day and only saw 1 decent 8 and I wasn't even hunting.
  8. 15 ft to the seat on ladder stands and one of the millineum's is at 16 ft at salt and my Summit Vine is 18' at the seat. High enough.
  9. Well, saw nothing and neither did my son. Oh well back at it on Friday!
  10. just had 2 doe grazing their way across the field from the house
  11. Thinking of giving it a shot this afternoon in 7M. Scoutweather says 24-25 mph winds after 12 today but no more rain. Thought I'd hit one of the stands around 2.
  12. No but I'll be out for the afternoon hunt on Monday after the storm passes through.
  13. He was so shook he did not go back the rest of the day.
  14. If the ears look small on its head the bear is big. This bear to me anyway looks to be about average so like others have said 250-300 lbs. This one was on camera Fall of 2015 near me. Note how small it's ears look.
  15. A friend of mine who uses his harness had a very close call yesterday afternoon. He said he always gets in his hang on stand then turns around and the hooks the harness. It is 22' up and he said he never hooks up first before stepping onto the stand but for some unknown reason he did this time. Good thing because he stepped on the stand and then turned around to place the pad on the seat and it gave way leaving him 22' up the tree hanging by the harness as the stand hit the ground. He was able to shinny down to safely some how.

  17. had a decent 6 dogging 4 does this morning. He stopped at my mock scrap and continued on after them.
  18. I'm off Fridays and occasional Mondays. I've take time off the week of Nov 6 - 11 so I can hunt from Love 3 thru the 12th un-interrupted.
  19. Team Fitzgerald. Google it.
  20. 143 gross... that was before I saw it on the hoof in the other pics. That is def 160. It looks to have more mass in the hoof pic.
  21. Deer dander here... hadbthem follow me right tonthevrung of my laffercstand. Same thing spray on bottom and side of boots and even on my calfs if walking through higher grass
  22. I would check your FOC first. Then ad 50 gr weight on front and recheck FOC If less then 15% buy 50 gr weights and insert from nock end with glue on it with a coat hanger.
  23. So they know of the big buck and they would rather kick him back to their property via your land then visa versa... and they only have retrieval rights. hmmmm! Way outta line in my book. Yep have the uncomfortable talk and once again give them retrieval rights with a phone call/text and response first and clarify that doesn't mean accessing their land thru yours period.
  24. First you have to build a prototype. Then you have to use it and improve it Then you need to have a few people sign confidentiality agreements. If they like it and think it is a product that hunters will like and buy then you may have something. If there is nothing like this then the chance of a patent is small.
