Nice work Sogaard. -
Sounds like the same concept as wine- wines made from the same grape variety but from different regions are very different.

Do you have any pictures? -
I cut it as thin as i could- probably about 1/8"- you could probably pound it to the right thickness. The thinner the better and be sure that the pieces are not overlapping each other.

Culver, I made jerky in the oven last year and it was really easy and came out great. Just find a marinade recipe you like, marinate the meat strips over night. Lay the strips on a rack set over a sheet pan and cook at 170 for about six or seven hours. I put a little liquid smoke in my marinade. I had never made jerky before and I couldn't have been happier with it.

Probably just a disclaimer that they include to avoid responsibility if anyone gets hurt.

Virgil, you were at the top of our list for secretary of health and welfare. Looks like that may not happen now. Can I still be the 'czar' of something? Anything? -

Wouldnt it be far cheaper to just start shooting illegals? KIDDING! Are you kidding? Haven't you noticed what Obama has done to the price of ammo? -

Quit funding them. Isnt that why they are here? If we quit providing there every need they have no reason to be here. Yes they are here and alot more thanks to your buddy in office. They have no legal right to be here thats why they are called illegal immigrants so why do we continue to provide them with means to stay? Take that away and do you think they will stay? Oh, right. 'Self-deportation'. Forgot about that genius plan. -

You will all get VIP treatment, I can assure you. Look at how fast power corrupts. I rescind the nomination. Back to the drawing board. -

If you dont want theme here and they are not here then there is no one to patch up and send home. Get it? So do tell me there smart one where does it say force them to go home? But, they ARE here. Do you have a time machine so that we can go back and prevent the problem from happening in the first place? What is your proposed solution? -

Environmental and Bureaucratic red tape. It would take so long and be so expensive to get through the process of building one, that it would take a huge chunk of the profitability out of it. Its cheaper for the oil companies to send the raw crude overseas to have it refined. That explains why no new ones have opened. But, I'm curious why the ones that were opened already decided to close. -

The problem with domestic oil is not that we cant produce, its that we cant refine. Hasnt been a new refinery to open in the US since the 70s, and many have shut down since then. Why -

If we drilled more of our own oil, opened more refineries, opened the keystone pipeline....wouldn't prices come down? I know it wouldn't happen overnight but it seems the price would eventually drop, while creating jobs. Maybe. But, who would we accuse of wasteful spending, who would foot the bill for environmental damage cleanups, etc. etc. while working toward eventually bringing prices down? -

If you're talking about percentages, I highly doubt that. http://taxfoundation...justed-brackets If you're talking about pure dollar amount, then I congratulate them on making more income than they have previously. My thoughts exactly. Congratulations to them for having a good year. -

Nobody's interested in the fact that the price of gasoline is determined by a global market and that the US president has very little influence over it. It's just easier to blame whoever is in charge when things get tough. -

Not sure what state you are living in, maybe the state of denile, but my taxes have gone up every yr for the last 10 yrs since I bought my house. Assuming your house is in New York and not the state of 'denile'(denial), those taxes you're referring to are state taxes, not federal taxes like income or payroll taxes. -
Looking into the legality of food plots.
virgil replied to lsnydes's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
It's a pretty fair question. And while the 'DEC says so' is correct as far as why it's legal, it doesn't explain why so many hunters who are appalled at anyone who users feeders or any form of baiting, but are totally cool with using food plots. Should make for an intersting thread. -
Nice buck. Congrats. If you don't mind me asking- public land or private?

Good luck to everyone who'll be out there for opening day. I'm heading upstate on Thursday for a long weekend.

Happens all the time out here. I had a treestand stolen a few years ago- it was only left in the woods for a few hours. Were your cameras on public private like Sarnoff or Otis Pike, or was it private land?
