  1. I've used the taxidermist/butcher on Sunrise in Oakdale a few times and have not been happy- I'm looking forward to recommendations.
  2. Zactly. And the rest of the yahoos buy it hook, line, and sinker.
  3. For those of you that are so convinced that Obama is after your guns, how do you explain the fact that the Brady Campaign gives his administration an 'F' for their lack of gun control efforts. Last I heard, 'F' was pretty bad. It seems to me that he would have a much better grade if he were as anti-gun as some of you claim. I know that facts are boring, but I'm curious how you would explain the fact that your claims don't match the opinion of the most prominent watchdog agency on gun control. Also, aren't you at all concerned about Romney being the former governor of a state with some of the tougher gun laws in the country?
  4. Right. Except it forgets to mention that a few months ago we played a significant role in killing their psycho leader. Maybe the poster wasn't big enough to fit all those little details.
  5. Is that right behind your house?
  6. My thought is that if the deer can detect the difference between buck pee and doe pee; and regular doe pee and doe-in-heat pee, etc. etc.- they can probably tell the difference between deer pee and mine. Just my theory though. I've heard of plenty of guys who pee in scrapes and say it works great.
  7. I hunt in Reynolds channel out of Point Lookout all the time. You can pull the boat right up to any of the islands and hunt. Or, you can hop out of the boat and hunt the puddles on the islands.
  8. I use a bottle. I agree with 'why take the chance of spooking deer'. Also, in cold weather, it's a great hand warmer.
  9. Not sure about the deer woods, but at my house in suffolk, i've got tons of acorns. My hunting land upstate is very overgrown- can't even walk the trails because of the thorns and brush.
  10. I don't think the law is senseless. But, I'll agree it's mostly toothless. All of the responses here seem like a bunch of hysterical nonsense to me.
  11. Culver, you're pissing up a tree now. Yes, sugary foods are not good either. But, studies have proven that consumption of sugary drinks is the worst offender. You need to let go of this silly fear that everyone in government has a hidden agenda to take away your 'freedom'.
  12. Again, you're being ridiculous to try to prove a point. Noone has even suggested any of these silly examples because they are not considered to be significant causes of the obesity epidemic.
  13. That's deep Elmo. Culver- I agree with you completely on the Food Stamps thing. But, not sure if that's something that a mayor can do anything about. I'd assume that's a federal program. As far as the enforcement thing, you're being ridiculous. Do we have a cop posted on every single road to enforce the speed laws? No,
  14. The law does not state that it's illegal to drink any quantity of soda; only that it cannot be sold/purchased in containers over a certain size in certain settings. Yes, if someone is so motivated to consume such ridiculous quantities of soda, they can do it legally. It'll just cost them more- just like people who are so motivated to smoke can still buy cigarettes, but have to pay huge taxes on them.
  15. Beer should be safe- especially beers that are high in alcohol content. Not to worry.
  16. It's entirely enforcible. And yes, in an ideal world we'd be able to rely on personal accountability. And in that nonexistant utopia, we wouldn't need laws at all. Great point.
  17. It is a law that does nothing except make libs such as yourself feel good If you're so sure that it won't accomplish anything, why are you so offended by it?
  18. Wait...you because they can't make smart decisions for themselves and have no will power means than someone like me who watches his diet, works out regularly not has to miss another inning at the baseball game to return to the concession line that's even longer now, and spend $12 (for two 16 oz drinks which is really 10 if you take out the ice) instead of spending $8 for one big gulp. Really? Yep. Major lifestyle inconvenience isn't it? You'll be okay.
  19. Not baiting at all. These products have no nutritional value and are a major contributor to the obesity epidemic and a huge drain on the health care system.
  20. Yes, partly because in my career I've worked with countless diabetics, chronic wound sufferers, and amputees whose health conditions are almost entirely due to these types of products. There is nothing wrong with sensible restrictions.
  21. I applaud the mayor's willingness to legislate what the general population is too stupid to do for themselves. Obesity is a huge epidemic and sugary drinks are one of the primary reasons for it. I see this as similar to the taxes and restrictions on cigarette purchases.
  22. Grow, I have to ask... Why have you had so many brushes with death while hunting?
  23. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/ouch-florida-teen-concocts-bogus-story-shooting-penis-left-testicle-cleaning-gun-article-1.1156512
  24. Totally agree. I'd love to see more shows that are more similar to real world conditions- at least the conditions that we're used to here in NY. Most of the shows on tv seem to be all about selling products and promoting the outfitters.
