  1. They take way too long to dry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks I’ll give them a try, I ordered a pair of Eddie Bauer mt flex pants that are talked very highly of on the western forums also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I haven’t tried these yet but have tried first lite “junk” kuiu “bad fit and loud” I really don’t like the athletic fit of this style of pants. I walk a-lot and am not in bad shape but I am not built like an Olympic runner. Do the SKRE’s follow the others in the athletic fit, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What are you using it for? For defensive pistols I love the XS DXT big dots. It’s the fastest sight I’ve ever shot. They’re not the best for punching X’s out of paper so if it’s a range you probably not the best option. Drift them in with a poly punch and get the front sight tool from Glock. Be sure to apply a bit Of lock tite on the front sight. It’s a 2 minute job. If the rear isn’t going don’t be afraid to do a little filing, you can mess up the slide. The slide can be messed up by an idiot with a pusher too so I would rather do it myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. For Turkey season and early deer season I need a new pair of pants. I have worn green unifirst work pants for a long time but their quality has gone down drastically in the last few pairs. The old ones wore like iron and I could get years out of them I don’t get them through work anymore and would like something that holds up a little better. My current ones dry quick, are quiet and are very comfortable. I don’t want or need camo but want to try something different. What’s everyone else wear in the woods when you don’t need any insulation? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Don’t do a rail, puts the optic too high. I use mounts made by sumtoy.com his website sucks you have to call him. Never used these but same idea and half the price https://www.egwguns.com/pistol-and-red-dot-mounts/deltapoint-pro-fits-shield-rms-rmsc-sms-jpoint-redfield-accelerator-and-optima-for-universal-670-radius Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. A leupold or trijicon will stand up to anything. That’s why they’re double what the others cost. I would put aim point in that group as well but they cost even more yet. The vortex venom is a nice optic but there’s a reason when ever you hear vortex brought up someone mentions how good their warranty is. I would put them in the same class as the ff2 or 3 haven’t looked at a 4 yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Facing me or facing away, Just below the beard if facing me. Facing away just above the tail. My favorite is full strut Texas heart shot. It gives you a bullseye and I’ve never seen one flop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I only used a bow for a bunch of years, probably killed 15 gobblers with a bow none of them went far. Small target so practice and keep ranges close and you shouldn’t have any issues. I used the Same setup as I use for deer Slicktrick fixed 4 blades. Only bird I ever lost was a hen I shot while deer hunting and I didn’t hit her well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I like your current plan much better than the 410 idea! Forget about the 2’s and 4’s not necessary and won’t pattern well out of the mod barrel 6’s or better yet 7.5’s and you should have a dead Turkey out to 30yds. Just make sure you don’t push it, wounded turkeys are almost impossible to find. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I would love to say Remington 870 or V3 in 12ga but I can’t they haven’t been running long enough to know how the quality/workmanship or warranty will be so I would avoid them at all costs. Mossberg 500 or bennelli nova. I would avoid the cheap under Turkish semis! Lowest priced semi I would consider would be the stoeger M3000 or cz 1012. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I hunted with a 870 super mag for 1 year, killed 5 turkeys and ended up with a broken finger and and a couple black eyes. My style of Turkey hunting very rarely leads to a normal shooting position therefor recoil becomes a much bigger factor. The bird I broke my finger on I shot at 8ft and never got the gun in my shoulder, broke my trigger finger and had to hunt the rest of the year shooting with middle finger. Last year both my birds were shot around trees with gun not in my shoulder, a 20ga kicks plenty for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks an awesome looking mount! Am I the only one that finds turkeys very ugly? I have a 3/4 mount of a triple beard and it was in the house for a bout a week before it became a basement closet space taker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I hunt my property with just me on it, heavily hunted private, heavily hunted public, and public that I’m pretty sure I’m the only one that goes near during Turkey season and I have yet to see where hunting pressure affects turkeys actions. Aside from the loud mouths getting killed. Maybe areas I haven’t been are different but I personally believe hunting pressure changes turkeys behavior is complete BS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I’ll go against the grain here and say that pressure affects gobblers very little. I’ve bumped gobblers by being aggressive and chasing them only to muff it up and kill the same bird the next day a bunch of times. Maybe you won’t get 10 chances at the same bird but I’ve killed lots of them by being very aggressive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. If you think you may need gravity to assist you in getting a clean kill you probably shouldn’t be doing it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Without seeing a pattern I would say no. I shoot 6 high brass from a 20ga with a custom choke, they have twice the payload and it’s a 25yd gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. A 410 with lead shot is a terrible idea! If you want to use your 410 for sentimental reasons use tss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I would like to see somewhere in writing that a bipod isn’t allowed on an ar? The retarded ones that come out of a the a fire grip aren’t because it’s a fire grip but I’ve never saw mention of a bipod being considered a “feature.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Depends on the property. I’ve Killed them both ways. I avoid big fields but I have one piece of property that’s on the side of mountain that has over 20 3-5 acre fields with thick hedge rows and and creeks. I love playing with birds there as I am able to maneuver on them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I’ve done it, I’ve shot turkeys out of trees, I’ve shot deer while using a truck and tractors as a rest. My ways have changed over the years. That’s why I will never judge how anyone else chooses to kill critters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. If a buyer is willing to pay for it 5 minutes at the local fed ex or ups store seems easier to me but it’s your gun and sale. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. There’s no hazmat on ammo, just primers and powder. I’ve shipped a lot of guns and never once had an issue. Not saying it couldn’t happen but not something I would worry about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I’ve said it a lot of times before but “sporting” or “ethics” are between yourself and the person in the mirror. To me if I’m hunting and get a cell cam picture of a bird or a deer from a cell cam on the property I’m on that bird or deer is in big trouble. Now if that was the only property I had to hunt I might not be as aggressive as far as deer goes but for turkeys pressure is a non issue. To me that takes a part of the game that I really enjoy out of it and is something I would never do. I have killed birds that I drove by and saw in a field but it’s something I don’t/won’t do anymore because it takes the fun out of it for me. I also won’t roost a Turkey. I have ZERO issues with those that do but as we all know hunting is a very personal thing and why we all do it our own way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Ruffed grouse, not a good shot I miss plenty. Grouse are really a very stupid bird and usually will allow you to get pretty close to them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
