  1. I don't leave home without one, I carry everything from a 22 to a 454 depending on how I feel that day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. There are tons of options that recoil way less than the 06. 7mm-08 is the easiest choice but there are many others. If it was me I would go with a 223 or a 6.5creedmore. A 30-30 is another great choice as well as 44mag. My 9year old daughter shoots my 44's and 45colts, they literally don't kick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Unless you reload and can take advantage of the versatility of the 45-70, I would go with a 35rem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So yesterday was the 2nd time this week that I have kicked the same guy off my property in about the same spot. Yesterday after our conversation he ended with "I only have a few acres can you at least stay away from this area tomorrow it's my last day off for a week" said in a scream similar to a teenage girl. I'm on my way out the door to do some squirrel hunting along the property line and I have a whole box of shells with me:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Where you headed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If I didn't give my dog deer legs I think he would start chewing on my leg. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My point is there are some hunters who will consistently kill mature deer when others don't. It doesn't matter where you put them they would continue to kill them. It only takes 3 things for a hunter to consistently kill mature bucks-a mature buck, skill and time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm not trying to argue but I don't agree with this either. Deer are deer they all need water food and cover. I have hunted deer in 7 states and have been successful in all of them and they all did the same thing to an extent. Yes deer populations are different all over the state but I don't see your point? 9. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I don't agree, some have it some don't. A hunter that consistently shoots mature deer can do it many ways in many places. A stalker knows where to stalk and would know where to put a stand or a blind and a stand hunter would know where to stalk. A scoped rifle doesn't make someone a better shot it makes someone see what they are shooting better. A few years ago when the Marine Corps went to scopes on their rifles the rifle scores stayed the exact same. There are good hunters and there are bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. A kid from my own heart! Good job dad and congrats to the young fella! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The real truth is you just didn't want to have to drag it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If you want the biggest challenge than why would you want AR's? That's seems counterintuitive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I would have killed him, in my opinion morals out weighs the law. It's a lot easier to sleep at night knowing I broke the law than knowing he is still suffering. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Who would work them and who would pay for it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Everyone saying shorten the season has never hunted the Adirondacks, I would love to see NZ change to just the Adirondacks and the rest of the state be southern zone and go to a 16 day gun season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Get laccrose you won't regret it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. There is no power advantage, 300fps is 300fps. And I would guess your shooting around a 400gn bolt. Your Xbow has significantly less "power" than my vertical bow. Shooting 320fps with a nearly 485gn arrow. There are Xbows that are more powerful than yours but to say yours is more powerful than a vertical bow is wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have no idea if this theory works but I do know in my area nearly everyone shoots the first buck they see. That gets them out of the woods and gives me a better chance of getting the big ones I'm after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. It's public land, no different than fishing a lake. It's not your spot it's everyone's spot. If you don't like it but land or lease it, don't think that you don't have the same problems on private land I have kicked a bunch of people out of my land this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I am against them completely. Don't want to shoot little ones don't, want to shoot a little one have at it. I have no problem killing a mature deer every year and am happy waiting on the one I want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. He'll gross around 125. A true NY beauty for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Latex gloves under your mechanics gloves and you will never have wet hands again. That's all I ever wear even when it's not wet because they keep my hands warm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I love hunting the bottoms. A swamp on the bottom of a mountain on the back side of the mountain is my favorite place to hunt and an area that will have little to no pressure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I think the closer you are to the line the safer, especially in a blind on the ground. If you and your neighbors have a good relationship and you don't shoot onto their property there is no problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
