    We have taken some deer outa there. I have not been in there this year but hunted it a lot in the past off both sides of Potter. I have one spot I checked out last year late season that I need to get back into it is just not easy to get to. We have seen a couple big bucks in there over the years. Another member on here used to hunt it quite a bit and saw a lot. I have not seen him post in a bit.

    Yea it gets pheasant hunted hard! I live like 2 miles from there. Some nice deer in there also some goofy ass people lol! Good luck!

    Every Friday in November. And the last 2 days of southern muzzleloader. I hunt almost every day as it is before or after work. If I hit a rut day where there is reason to miss work I will.

    So got out of work and was in the outer hole stand by 4:15 for the last 2 hours. Was a big change in wind from yesterday and quiet. I jumped a good sized deer up top going in. About 40 minutes into the watch i hear and see one come in off to my right in the thick stuff about 40 yards out. I reposition and ding my boot off the side of the stand and she stops dead. After a bit she starts heading right at me. She is 8 yards tops just giving me the stare down for 10 minutes! That never fails to excite trying to stay dead still not even make eye contact for that long! I am not the best size judge on does all alone but I knew she was a doe and not huge but not a fawn. I also was pretty sure she was the same doe that slipped through my lane last week all alone. So for you sensitive types she has gone a week with no fawns!! lol Anyhows she finally turned and walked away and cut a small window broadside at 21 yards and i gave her a nice shot. She went 50 yards and out of site. I heard her crashing but another deer ran out I could just see so I did not see her fall. If I had I would have I would sat in stand till dark as it felt so good out. Nice double lung at 103 pounds. Already sharpened the Rage for the next victim!

    She came out and I accidentally clicked the stand with my boot. So she hangs up then decides to come right at me and check it out. After a 10 minute 8 yard stare down she walked away and gave me a 21 yard shot threw a small window. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Gotcha. Like I said I usually do to. I was just interested because some folks and some DEC seem to think you have to be unloaded after dark.

    To tell the truth I could not sit on stand for hours on end without a distraction. Before cellphones I would pack a paperback book to read. I would read a page, scan, read a page... I am sure it has made me miss some deer sneaking in but as it keeps me a lot stiller and in the woods longer it has also gained me some deer. I am a lot more alert during peak times or when the woods are wet and quiet. Those potato chip leaves days I can hear a deer long before I can see it! Also before cell phones I hunted the ADKS and bigger parcels so I would sit the peak am and pm but be still hunting in between. All my close spots now are small and I do not blow them out still hunting them.

    I'm making a management call and directing Phade to stop posting up deer porn! That shit is gonna get me fired! I look at that and leave work to go sit in stand all day every day instead of going to work! Then I realize all i have on cams is 1.5 year olds. Hangs head in shame...…...
