Saw nothing until just before 9. Had a buck chasing 1 or 2 through the beans then cut across in front of us. Hit the trail for a sec but not s great shot op. Looked like a solid 6 point. The boy had it in the scope but did not like the shot. Bro saw one spike. It was 75 when we came out and it’s 84 now. Be back out later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 10374 replies

Sometimes getting one real early gives you the freedom to try some spots/strategies you may not usually. And that may up your game and increase your hunting knowledge. It also may keep your ass in bed when the bow season is running out and it’s 33 degrees and pissing rain and blowing 20 mph while Phade is froze to a tree! Have not been out with the bow yet. Between being sick and soccer and tennis matches just no time. All packed up and ready to head out to NC tonight. We will be in the stand Friday morning. It is supposed to be unordinary hot so packed light and got lots of Thermocell fuel!!

I am not in your area but I would say your looking at $70-$100 bucks for a good cut, bone and package. And research well! There are a bunch of not so great butchers out there. There are some real good ones as well though.

This is awesome!! That first one alone is always something! Congratz to you both.

Yea I just searched that up and printed it, living like a King TF!! Hope your enjoying your first bow hunt!! The real early season is good for agriculture land and food where the deer are in patterns. In a couple weeks the leaves will start falling hard, it will be a lot cooler and the bucks will start getting itchy. That's when it gets real fun. Especially in non ag lands like I hunt.

As a lot have said my requirements change with many factors. Primary is how does the freezer look and how late it is in the season. Early season I will let all 1.5s walk. What is different where I hunt is I do not get many doe opportunities. So if I get a chance on a doe early and score then I will continue to hold out for a bigger deer and I mean body size. If the freezer is bare and season is running out well chewing on tags is not why I hunt.
