http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/obama-isis-white-house/2015/12/06/id/704766/ ""We cannot turn against each other by letting this fight be defined as a war between America and Islam," he said, alluding to the incendiary rhetoric by Republican presidential candidates like Donald Trump, which is seen by critics as fear-mongering against the Muslim community." That's precisely what it is Mr. President. It's a war based on principles.

Air puffer and soft brush for the bigger stuff like general dust. Smudges will require a very clean microfiber cloth with a drop of distilled water. Tap water has chemicals and impurities in it that can, and will attack the lens coatings. Use tiny circular strokes and change the part of the cloth you're using frequently so that you don't start re-polishing the lens with accumulated dirt. It's a delicate operation and it takes time, but it's worth it. Modern lens coatings are pretty durable, but even a tiny scratch can drive you crazy if the light hits it a certain way. I use telescopes and cameras more than rifle scopes today, but it's the same principle.

I'll take the one at the '3 ft' end of the pool. I'm not picky.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/gun-control-efforts-fail-in-senate-after-california-shooting/ar-AAfZwT9?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=U141DHP NYS Senator Chuck Schumer, regarding gun control: "America is changing..." "If we don't win today, we'll win next month or the month after that or the month after that. The worst thing we can do is do nothing and let those who are hiding out of fear of the NRA stay under the covers." He and his ilk want an unarmed populace in this country, and this is how he feels about the legislative fight in DC. I support the NRA.

Somewhere in America today a Liberal website is missing a pom-pom bearer. The unicorns are crying. -

I learned very early in my career that you cannot teach. The best you can do is give someone the tools to learn, and then help them on their way. -

Concealed Carry

Can't help you with that. My friends from your area are all either LE or military. Concealed carry comes with the job. You might ask the question in General ChitChat to get more views/responses. Sorry mods, no offense intended. -

I don't want terrorists in this country to be able to arm themselves. Hell, I don't want terrorists in this country at all. You're missing the forest for the trees, though. The piece of legislation you mention is specifically intended to give the Federal government the power to decide who in this country will be allowed to own a gun. That's NOT the job of the Federal government, and in fact it absolutely runs contrary to the powers of that governing body. They're supposed to defend the Constitution, not nullify it. The people who write and propose this kind of legislation consider me a terrorist because I'm a white male gun owner with a constitutionally conservative mindset who refuses to go along with their 'grand plan'. They really need to rethink their definition of "terrorist", because I've never hurt anyone except in self-defense. -
http://buffalochronicle.com/2015/12/01/emboldened-by-silver-conviction-bharara-to-indict-cuomo-jan-2nd/ "United States Attorney Preet Bharara feels emboldened, sources say, following the conviction of former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver — on all of seven corruption charges. Despite lacking a “smoking gun” to constitute an explicit quid pro quo, the jury handed Bharara a sweeping win. Such is the public’s appetite for corrupt politicians, observers say. Three sources are confirming that Bharara intends to indict Governor Andrew Cuomo on January 2nd — along with a half dozen associates and former staffers — on public corruption, racketeering, conspiracy, and honest services fraud." I don't even know what the 'Buffalo Chronicle' is, so it may be complete BS. I'd appreciate any info or insight on this. I'm passing it along because just the thought that it might be factual made my day. :-]

I just turn my head sideways to see the pics. I'm not entirely inflexible, and it's good exercise..

It may sound silly, but being physically fit plays a huge role in staying warm, as does diet, and simply being acclimated to the temps. I'm gradually becoming old and just a bit fat and I have a much harder time staying warm than when I used to do hard physical labor outside every day of the year. Clothing will keep the heat in, but if you're not physically fit and eating reasonably well your body won't produce the 'right' kind of heat for the clothes to keep in.

Too many filters on my computer to see the vid, but I can almost picture it. Kentuckians take understatement to an art form. ;-]

The Progressives will never change their positions, but I'm seeing some real concern among some of the younger folks who have never bothered to vote before. This is where my hope lies. I work in construction and see quite a few young working people in my daily travels. I make a point of bringing up politics and I'm not shy about voicing my opinion. A lot of them seem to be getting excited about the upcoming presidential election, and they're telling their friends. In a very real sense it's going to come down to the numbers of people who show up to vote: The working and productive contributors vs the non-working takers. -

"Too soon old, too late smart." I don't remember who said it, but it certainly is true. I sat in a canoe on the northern edge of Algonquin Provincial park in 1984 and considered my options. In the end, I paddled back towards home. I've put a canoe or kayak in just about every waterway in NYS since then, and I've had a lot of fun over the last 30 years. But I'll never stop wondering what might have been. Godspeed Robin.

Wife says go, you go! Not to make light of it but the sniff test is the deciding factor. Just don't overcook any of it, as that's a sure way to make it inedible. Medium rare at most. Congratulations on your deer.

Anything that will be frozen has to have close to zero air in the package. I think that's a cosmic meat law or something. :-] A vacuum sealer is nice, but not absolutely necessary. The thin plastic baggies like they have for vegetables in grocery stores work well. Bag the meat and squeeze the air out, all of it, or at least as much as you can, then wrap tightly with freezer paper. It doesn't look like your deer was handled well, but it may not be too late. Re-package it, freeze it as needed, and try it. It may be fine. Best of luck.
