  1. Here's my top 3. First one is 155 gross. Second is mid 140's and the last one was a 6.5 year old nontypical 130 class. All 3 taken with the bow.
  2. I agree with what everyone else said that it's a coyote. With that being said, I checked my cam this morning and got this guy. I don't normally have fox or coyotes here, but I do think that it's a fox. Does anyone think otherwise?
  3. Not sure if it's the exact location but I'm pretty sure that the doe pic was last year.
  4. This one was at the Woolworth estate. Lol
  5. I have a pic of a doe on my cell that got stuck on the same fence. I sure wish that they would allow hunting in Nassau County. But they won't, at least not until the population is way out of control. I read in an article how the City of Glen Cove recommends that if you see a deer, stay away because they can harm you. Lol.
  6. Like I said, I bought mine probably around 95 or so. It is a special purpose with a synthetic stock and a shoulder strap. I don't have the cantilever mount but you can buy that new. Even if you could only find an older gun with a wood stock, you can always make some upgrades to it. As long as the inner workings of the gun were made at least 10 years ago, I think you'll be good. Stocks, barrels, strap, and cantilever mount can all be replaced with new with no issues.
  7. I've had my 11-87 since the mid 90's. It's my all purpose gun. I love it. But I've heard that the newer ones have had some issues. If I was to buy another one, I would defineatly look to buy a used one in good condition at least 10 yrs old.
  8. Congrats. Nice buck. Also, your pic on Facebook gives the location. Maybe you can edit it. There is something in settings on your phone that you can change for future pics.
  9. I have one and will be using it. I will also have my rain gear on. As long as it helps keep my gun dry, I'll be happy.
  10. I'm feeling kind of speechless right now. I've been hunting this buck hard including an all day sit yesterday with temps in the 20's. This morning I decided to hit up another spot and return to this one where this pic lives for the afternoon. So I get up in my stand this afternoon and I come across this pic of the buck that I've been hunting. It turns out that he shot him this morning about 200 yds from my stand. This is the only pic that I've seen of this deer during daylight hours. He was with a doe when he was taken. I'm a bit upset over it but I'm glad that I at least know that he was killed. I just hope now that the other 2 boys that were around, still are, as I haven't had pics of them in about a week or so.
  11. Residents of East Hampton can obtain a free permit from the town to hunt town properties with the bow as well as the gun in January. Maybe your family could let you move in? Lol
  12. I have a feeling that with this temp drop even though it's windy, the ones who are out will see the big guys cruising. And I think that tomorrow is going to be an epic day. We'll see. Fingers crossed...
  13. Long Island is 2 bucks bucks anytime from 10/1-1/31. The reason being is that the archery season is considered the regular season. Also for the month of January, gun season coincides with bow, and you can fill both buck tags with either weapon.
  14. After viewing the link that Belo posted, it appears that now they sell the loop hook release that does swivel. It used to be a solid piece, but I guess they changed the design at some point.
  15. Yes they do. But it is a solid piece that doesn't swivel at all. So what I did was grind down the skinny piece that's on the top in the photo above on a belt sander. It came out exactly like the one made for loop shooters, but still swivels slightly.
  16. I guess I'm old school. After all of these years I still shoot a Free Flight release. It's a glove style. And I have it slightly modified so that it is a hook and I can shoot it with a D loop.
  17. Hunted all day yesterday here in 1c. I saw a bunch of small bucks and does at first light. Then another flurry of activity around 10 and again at 1. Decided to head to another spot around 230. Saw 1 doe and then a really nice buck came in in the dark as I was about to get down. So I'm back in the same spot but a different tree this am. As I'm pulling up to my spot I get this pic as one my hit listers is chasing a doe past my cam in the area. Might be a good sit. Fingers are crossed.
  18. Good luck and I hope you find him. Keep us posted.
  19. Upon further review of follow up pics, I do agree that it must've been a bug or something. When I first saw it, it looked about the length of an arrow with the placement right into the shoulder.
  20. It's hard to tell, but I think this may be the same buck. He doesn't look as big in the first photo, but I think it may be the angle and the distance. His brow tines look similar with the right one being longer.
