  1. Nothing beats the beaty of a bird dog puppy!! Good look with it.
  2. I have the same addiction!! I think I am up to 18 belgians...most of which are sweet 16s. My 16 ga fetish carries on into Citoris...savage 720....Remington Mod 11 to name a few. NOTHING compares to the feel of a Belgian Sweet 16...though my light 20’s are nice too. Something about those purple shells brings fond memories of my dad pheasant hunting with his 720
  3. I have all 16 JS calls on the foxpro now. Love the Crow Reveille
  4. A good friend has siund equipment he used in television production. He was able to play the JS sounds into the computer as a speaker and then convert them to mp3
  5. I would be happy yo make a plan to get together with any of you as my hunting partner (nephew/son) is tied up in law school and I have been going alone. I won’t be able to get out again until the weekend of the 9th. Got a FoxPro shockwave...18 decoys...Bob Arohnsons calls AND Johnny Stewart calls all on the FoxPro. I am kind of addicted to the damned sport of crows.
  6. Unfortunately not all adults who take to the woods are responsible and I fear the youngsters will not be taught or monitored properly which can be dangerous. Once that bullet leaves the gun you cannot bring it back.
  7. And whenever they darted a rhino in the @$$ he would say ‘and a perfect shot’...or merlin would be in the chopper while poor jim was wrestling a leopard.
  8. We are in a great flyway here in Oneida County. I only have to drive 4-5 miles to be in great crow hunting. What ticks me off is we have thousands toisting in the trees behind my house every night but can’t shoot them here in the city limits. Not worth losing my law license for that. They send me nuts though. It is an addiction once you really start getting into them
  9. Crows were flying yesterday. As cold as it was, I was able to kill 30 in 2 sets. One set was in a standing sweetcorn field still full of corn. Foxpro drew them in well.
  10. I switched to an Obsession this year. Best shooting bow I have ever had. Super smooth and well balanced.
  11. My nephews 8 point he killed opening day southern zone. He has killed 4 nice bucks from that shooting house the last 4 years. You can see the shooting house 200 yards away at the top right corner of the photo. Used my fathers BAR in 308.
  12. Northern Zone buck I killed November 4. Saw him for 3 years. Neat markings...not a True piebald but just a neat buck. Grunted him in from 500 yards...dead run to my stand...shot him at 5 yards.
  13. Getting better. 30 yds with the new Obsession
  14. Cleared shooting lanes for the box blinds for rifle season yesterday. Porcupines ate through the floor on one and had to replace it. Wife saw the porky on the woids later and he took a CCI to the cranium. We killed 13 adult porcupines since May. 9 in one day alone. Last year they ate one box blind right to the studs. Pics are the views from 1 of 4 box blinds. All are on one hedgrow about 300 yards apart.
  15. Franchi has always made great guns. I have a falconnet 20 o/u and a model 48 in 12...outstanding performers. I recently purchased 2 new Browning A5s...incredible guns...I will be ordering the sweet 16 soon...that will add to my Browning addiction of 22 belgian auto 5's and 16 ga citoris...lets not even mention the Perazzi...berettas....aw...forget it
  16. I am glad some are seeing good numbers. There is nothing I love more than chasing grouse with my setters. My uncle had a grouse that followed him all summer while cutting trees in his woods. Would jump up on the tractor seat while he worked. I believe it is quite common for grouse to do such things
  17. Any thoughts on grouse numbers this year?
  18. Look up George Digweed Crow shoots on YouTube. It will make you nuts watching him kill 500 in a day...in the UK of course
  19. There is nothing like setting up in the dark then hearing the first few early feeding calls as it starts to get light...followed by those first few birds floating into the decoy spread. The right calls and decoy spread made sll the difference for me. Have to have at 2 to 3 decoys as high in the trees as you can get them. I got so crazy that I built a fake tree out of PVC That extended 12 feet in the air for the decoys. Packs down into a camp chair bag. Sounds silly but it works when trees are sparse in a hedgerow.
  20. I have been hunting them for about 6 years. Last year it became a quest and soon became addicted. Bought a FoxPro super sno cro plus and the Bob Ahronson call pack...unbelievable fun. Throw in a dozen flocked decoys...10 degree mornings after deer season...and shoot yourself silly. Best times for me is right at first light. I am fortunate to live in a large flight path with no pressure
  21. Have 6 of these throughout 2 farms....considering a couple more
