  1. Cabin, dont burn yourself (or your spots) out, but enjoy every moment out there! If you can stick with it, I can assure you that action will be heating up in the weeks to come. Good luck this morning
  2. Yeah I was just tryin to strike up a conversation!
  3. How big is the parcel? Is there no way to get around the guy other than getting in there first? Does he always sit the same stand?
  4. My brother told me about a few hens he found today. I'm gonna try them one more time and see if they all taste as bad as the first ones I tried.
  5. Finally! I've been pinned down. I've had 6 deer (3 doe& 3 fawns) eating acorns & beechnuts below me for 45 minutes. They just moved into the field so I can exit. Had a small 6 come to visit too.
  6. First sit of 2014! My dad had deer all around this stand last night. Im hoping the shooter 7 has a taste for clover and turnips tonight!
  7. So just call the DEC tipp line
  8. Hail makes it good for stalking, they can't hear you as good. I walked up(20yds) on a buck a few years ago during a hail
  9. They could've at least had the courtesy to lay some cardboard down to soak up the blood!
  10. I dunno, we were all kidding about the fawns.......You sick puppy! Lol
  11. You done rubbin Elmo's belly? I got no sympathy for the guy. I haven't been in the woods in 3 weeks! haha. just bustin on ya
  12. I swear getting a job there doesn't sound half bad, the guy in the outdoors dept. told me the other day that he pretty much gets first dibs on ammo.
  13. I shoot fawns 365 days/year. I didn't plant that grass for them to eat.
  14. Redneck, they can cover alot of ground very quickly when their adrenaline kicks in. You may have to go a ways to get to where he/she slowed down enough to leave a good trail. Don't ignore the fact that they will sometimes double back on you. If it doesn't pan out searching in his/her last direction of travel, then just start doing sweeps from the last blood. Scan methodically for even the tiniest drops of blood. If it was a high hit, he/ she might take a while to fill up with blood. Those blood spots you found could be from the broadhead grinding on the opposite shoulder.
  15. It should be fine if you're out there at first light. What is the terrain like? Listen for crows, they can sometimes lead you to the deer.
  16. Your 1st one? Congrats! We all get a few nerves when the deer come in, it's a rush! Just try not to celebrate too early, allow yourself to focus on the "job" so that all your hard work & patience pays off.
  17. Normal. It looks bigger because your hand is not flat on the ground
  18. lol I just saw that last night
