So did anything constructive happen on this goose hunt????......like shooting geese? lol
-
Coyotes gotta eat! I'd have called the DEC and kept right on eating my corn flakes in hopes of it stumbling into some soft-hearted anti hunters yard. Maybe they would see that protecting bambi from the savage hunters just allows for overpopulation. Are they so dense that they ignore the fact that more deer roaming around is gonna lead to more dead, dying and mangled deer laying all over the place?

The safe act had probably been waiting in the wings for years and I'm sure it didn't take a six figure paid strategist to tell cuomo to drop the hammer on it in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shooting. Since his adgenda is purely political, I don't doubt that he'll try to add onto the safe act when in reality he is sitting idly by and waging no kind of war against crime. He's the biggest criminal in the state!

don't jinx it Doc!

damn rain didn't stop me. Now I'm warming up with some coffee.
-
Me too. I still had the window open and the fan on. If it wasn't for the looming rain storm, I'd be wading in the river by now.

Yeah it's strange that the IR didn't illuminate both eyes. Maybe it's because it was at twilight and that eye could have been gathering more natural light. It's hard to say.

Welcome Pat, do you have hunting experience? What part of the state do you hail from? The site is starting to heat up with the bow season just around the corner.Good luck this season

Actually..... they are Allium tricoccum (commonly known as ramp, ramps, spring onion, Ramson, wild leek, wood leek, and wild garlic)

Right there I'd have dumped 2 or 3 slugs into his neck. No questions asked. Fuq with my livelihood and that's all she wrote!

and don't forget to pull the antenna out

From what I can tell I'm gonna just estimate it at about 280-340. Like you, I have never laid eyes on a wild NYS bear and I've spent the last 19 years hunting/fishing/trapping, etc. hope you get a crack at him!
-
and if you eat red meat you'll smell like a predator. Just send it my way and I'll "control the coyote population"!
-
It's possible that the wardens who confronted you were not NYSDEC, but rather from the NYCDEP.
-
have you seen him this year?

Well to be totally honest with you, because hunting isn't everything and motives for marriage are forged from love. If that love is true enough for a man & a woman to unite in holy matrimony, then along with that comes "honor & obey", "better or worse", "sickness or health", etc.If that person holds you from pursuing your passions then they are in the wrong. If they simply dislike it or dont understand it then open minds will usually prevail if we explain the true meaning of it and express how passions in life lead to a peaceful soul.

yep. You'll need a license. If you can, sign up for your trappers course it's pretty cool and usually quite laid back. I took mine in an old barn and those old timers know their stuff. They enjoy teaching the craft so it will be preserved for future generations

I gotta admit it's comforting in knowing that my wife can rack a shell and light someones world up if they break in our house. We have no kids so I keep 3 guns in my bedroom with loaded tubes & clips. With all the firepower I have, I'll be God damned if someone takes us out in our own home!

Is Cuomo running unopposed?
PREDATE replied to Doc's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
yep. Pretty much every day. Paid for by the Democratic party. Need I say more? -
so when sex crazed bucks are traveling miles in a day during mid November, do they care about pressure? My point is that food holds does and bucks of all sizes will actively seek them out. More than likely, most bucks will wind up in foriegn territory at some point completely unknowing of any danger. So saying that 2+ year old deer can't be taken over bait is absurd

I'm kind of waiting to see how this maiden voyage of early bear season goes before I try it. I could be down there in about 1 1/2 hrs. Just have no free time to go down and scout this year. If the new early bear season is a success, I'll likely be trying it out in years to come.

Nope. She comes from a family of hunters and loves venny just as much as me. She always picks the bullet that I load in the gun first on opening morning. She listens to all my endless hunting stories, ideas and strategies. Also puts up with my predator hunting addiction which keeps me out late quite often. Always supportive and wishing me luck. For that I am blessed.
