I'm sure the light won't spook the deer anymore than stepping on every twig while trying to navigate in the dark. All you really need is a small red or green light to illuminate those reflectors. I don't use the tacks because I really do have exceptional spatial awareness, but I do bring a small light(mini-mag).Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Don't forget about the Eurasian boars that we cannot shootSent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Haven't had them in years, but I always just coated them "drummys" with seasoned flour and fried. Yum Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Ooh nice! I'd have a have a fox trap at either end for sure. Oh and an extra set of dry clothes stashed somewhere nearby might prove useful on some brisk november morning. I'd hate to see your "live from the stand" post turn into "live from my living room drinking hot cocoa"! Lol Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Dang! It sure looked real. Maybe a setup stunt, but I'm sure that guy was hurtin'. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Today while driving between jobs I saw a guy riding a bike along the riverwalk near clinton st. with a pike on a stringer. The thing couldn't have been any more than 20". I was pissed and if I didn't have to rush to the job I'd have reported him Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Regulat0r, These are important details that will help in determining stand placement and even scouting techniques. So what say you?Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

I started out using one 17 years ago. I don't use them anymore. Could you imagine dropping your release as a monster buck shows up? Besides, sometimes I get an itch on my nose while I'm at full draw! Try that with a T-handle Lol My release goes on my wrist before I enter the woods and stays there til I leave. I tuck it up my sleeve while I climb so it's not clanking on the stand. I've stuffed a few deer in a trunk. Nothin wrong with it. Now I have a trailer hitch cargo rack on my JEEP. Works pretty good. I wrap the deer in a tarp first to keep road crud and exhaust fumes off of it. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

I was on the susky for about 12 hours this weekend and had the same luck. No boils from muskies. I did get a few smallies though. Getting as much OT at work as possible so my fishing will be limited to Sundays and the occasional after dark trip. Speaking of work, my smoke break is over. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

You should definitely be able to get some good bleedersticks on your budget. Not to sound like a complete redneck:D , but I've killed deer using $3 arrows from the bin at walmart. Lol I don't reccommend it, but they worked in a pinch after shooting all my good arrows at coyotes & turkeys. Now I always bring a crappy arrow for varmints! Practice often and have confidence in your shooting form Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

I think they might be running a deal on the axis. Buy 1 get another 50% off.Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

I've had great success with Easton Carbon Raiders. I usually pick them up at Dicks for about $40 per half dozen. You can go to the Easton website and use the arrow calculator to figure out what size you need Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Why make a dent? We are by no means overpopulated with bears. The way it is allows for a healthy population of bears. Look at it this way, every NYS hunter who buys a big game license recieves a bear tag and most of those tags go unused every year. If they were to legalize baiting the bear harvest would climb for a few years, but then their numbers might get so low that the DEC closes bear season.Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

I've tried acorns. I don't think they'd be half bad toasted and sprinkled in my oatmeal, cream of wheat, or hot grapenuts. Yum! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Not trying to spark a debate, but I don't buy into that 1 bit and never will. I have literally & intentionally urinated on an active 3ft. scrape. On my way to the stand the next morning I checked and the scrape had been freshened overnight. That day I had a shooter 11pt. with a bleach-white rack chasing 3 doe all around me. They passed within 2ft. of that scrape twice and didn't even care. He never offered a shot because he was only interested in the does. Needless to say, nowadays I "let er' fly" whenever the need arises. Hmmm, maybe I should develop a taste for acorns! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
