  1. that's probably a whole thread in itself! lol. Don't forget your roots. I have OLD family cookbooks which utilize ingredients like woodchuck and raccoon. I'm the kind of guy who would try alot of the foods from that show ( Bizarre foods with Andrew Zimmern). Call it wierd, I call it not being squeemish! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  2. yummy is right although I haven't ate it raw in quite some time. I might have to get some, but I'll top it with a bunch of sauteed garlic slices seasoned with a little curry powder and some real Georgia vidalia onion.Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  3. they forgot to include an update feature. So basically you'll have to buy a new (updated)chip every year. Some counties have an online GIS server that works to a degree. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

    Dang

you could try reverse psychology and act super pumped and tell your visions of granger about hauling a flatbed full of "treasures" home. Maybe she'll be like, "whoa, easy big fella" and let you go do your thing. Or maybe she'll get just as excited and plan for 2 flat beds, but when this is all over and every knick-knack has found a spot in your home you'll at least have some leverage for the next time she wants you to "spend time". 5. what some folks see as a "must have" varies. For starters, yes good clothing for all weather types will do you good. Staying comfortable will allow you to stay on stand longer(motionless). If your budget allows for it, then yes a pack full of gadgets might come in handy, but you don't need to haul cabelas on your back to enjoy being out in nature or to be successful. I wouldn't hesitate to jump 100yds into the woods with 25 minutes of legal shooting light wearing jeans and a flannel to arrow a deer. Because I've done it! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  6. I rarely get upset while out enjoying nature, but I had a scenario last season that actually brought me outta my tree, flailing my arms and giving a few choice words as I crashed outta the brush. Not one of my finest moments, but these guys pushed THAT button. Yes it was public land, but these guys showed no etiquette. They stepped on every stick possible, then spread out so one guy was 60yds in front of me and the other was 45yds to my right. They started literally reaching up and snapping branches. They were in plain view of me and I was waving my vest, whistling, and even gave a few "hey" shouts. They never even gave a wave or anything to aknowledge my presence. Then I snapped!Yes it was extreme, but it went on for 20 minutes. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

    Susky Muskies

Oh good then I'm glad I actually didn't let a poacher get away with it. That is if it was a pike and not a small muskellunge. That is a good little morning spot for smallies. I threw on a buzzbait and got a few. I wouldn't mind wading around that island! Have you gotten any pike/muskies that far upstream? Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  9. hahaha I like to replace one with 2 red ones to make it look like a predators eyes and then put a few more that are only visible when they turn around. They'll be telling all their buddies that they were surrounded by fiery eyes! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  10. they'll rust and fall out at some point. Not really a big deal considering all the trash that's bees left in the woods over the past few centuries, besides you can plan your hunt by knowing that persons entry route!!! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  11. I'm sure you got a good razzing and hey a good critiquing from an old timer is never a bad thing, after all who was cozy back at camp and who wasn't? lolSent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Nothing wrong with that Dom if you've allowed ample time for the shooter to recover their prize. Can I ask what types of folks usually buy racks. Artsy people, non hunters or do you place an ad on craigslist? I like green paper Jacksons too! Lol Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  13. Didn't work on my end bud. I am intrigued though! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Well if you don't, someone else will. I personally am not interested in another persons kill, but if it's been at least a week I might commandeer a new set of rattlers to give away (I have enough). If they lay too long the mice will get em, which brings up another topic. Like if I can't appreciate them, why not let another critter benefit from gnawing on em. I'm a hunter yes, but I absolutely hate seeing ANY animal suffer. Hell I don't even like when my fiance pours salt on the 4-5 inch leopard slugs that live under our deck! lol Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  15. I saw this over on batm. I figured those guys would give you some insight. I personally have done all my calling with handcalls, but I'm thinking of going electronic too. I've heard guys say to buy the best you can afford. I like foxpro, but I have also heard a Primos turbo dogg and it sounded great. At 1/2 mile it really sounded like a pack of yotes. 16. Interesting. I have been in team based deer contests on another forum in the past and it worked quite well. Teams were picked from the order they signed up on the entry page. Then each team had it's own thread. It was neat because we got to vote on team names & avatars. Some good clean trash talkin kept it pretty lively too!Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

  20. Pygmy- you basically just described a fricassee. Yum! Chicken fricassee has always been one if my faves. I'm gonna try it with some tree rats! I usually let my taste inspire me to create new dishes. Here's one I just devised in my head. I'll call it Simple Pan-Seared Squirrel with Steamed Asparagus Tips and Bearnaise sauce. I would serve with grilled ciabatta bread and brush on some rosemary infused olive oil. Damn I'm makin myself hungry Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  21. I agree. This election didn't just sneak up on anyone. As it states in this article. If just half of those estimated 6 million gun owners voted for Astorino, that would turn the tide and send Cuomo packing. Also, that if each one of us sends just $5 that we alone could come close to matching Cuomos 38 million. Personally I wish " Trump For NYS Governor" would have came into fruition, but as it is Astorino has my vote. http://m.unitedgunownersofnewyorkstate.com/site/mobile?dm_path=%2F&fw_sig_permission_level=0&fw_sig_api_key=522b0eedffc137c934fc7268582d53a1&fw_sig_site=106229805&fw_sig_access_token=12204d2dcba6ec70c40889c415098b870cc58691&fw_sig_url=http://www.unitedgunownersofnewyorkstate.com/&fw_sig_is_admin=0&fw_sig_time=1408892593021&fw_sig_session_key=e56d3745b7dacca1e4132dfbbe14368494c07830a6153b0d2a75d47b440d8af7-106229805&fw_sig_locale=en-US&fw_sig_permissions=none&fw_sig_tier=-1&fw_sig_premium=1&fw_sig_social=1&fw_sig=2e4f9e28ad5a68b92b2677b50a59b670&fw_sig_partner=webs&fb_sig_network=fw#3122 Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  22. Welcome! I'm just to the south in Broome county. I see some very nice work on the taxidermy FB page! Do you do any pelt tanning? Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  23. Being outdoorsmen/women, I don't think it's us that need to be reached. We already know who NOT to vote for! So use your hyperlinks wisely, there might be a limit on them tooSent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  24. I wouldn't advise anyone sporting that one during turkey season! They're relatively inexpensive so I've never learned the craft, but if I had the time I wouldn't mind learning Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2
  25. Like you said, Cuomo has a seemingly unlimited amount of cash on hand. Maybe Astorino doesn't, but since there's a $100 limit on contributions from an individual it seems Astorino will be hard pressed to attain a considerable amount when he is on the recieving end of most of the media mud slinging. I wish I could do more to help the little fella, but this is the road he chose. His views and goals might be top notch, but he's playing the numbers($cash$) game. It really is sad when the better man doesn't win due to $$$. Hell I'd be cheap. Just give me a crayon and the back of an envelope and I'll turn this place around!
