  1. Here is a couple running the hill this year. This from the first round of photos for 2014 season
  2. My guess was 140" maybe 145" he didnt seem to grow much from last year it seems besides mass. I'll put up a pic from last winter when i get the chance. I'm in it for the age class anyways, not the score, but this guy had to me guessing. I'll put up a couple more pope n young boys we have running around the hill in a bit.
  3. I finally figured out how to upload pics. I've seen him twice in gun last year. To far once and too brushy for ethical shot the second time. And again when he was a 2-1/2 yr old I let him walk ..
  4. Looking for your guys guesstimates .. What do you think he scores. I've got pics of him for 4 years now and he is a 5-1/2yr old this year.. see if your guess is what I'm guessing.. thanks
  5. I shoot great groups. I just basically am looking for the release. I can hold 4-5" groups at 50 yards. When i shot that relaease, I would shoot even tighter groups at that distance. Like i siad, just looking to see if anyone had one or could help out. I really enjoyed shooting it. And someone went and stole my buddies so I figured I would search.
  6. I totally agree! there is not much better than having good neighbors! Most of mine are except for a few individuals.
  7. Nice! what all is in winter grass by biologic? i planned on putting just trophy oats in this weekend.
  8. 8P also, i cant say ive seen alot of fawns here but ive seen some. hope there just hiding out. check my 4 cams this week for first time this season and ill know better then.
  9. Yes, I have tried ebay. Think im losing this battle. Someone stole the one my buddy had in his shop for everyone to use. I agree with you on practicing with what you hunt with and such but this release is unreal, I wish I had one to show you and let you try it. Hard to explain, from an explanation perspective and actually using it. I would use it only so often. Just to keep me in tune. It helps with everything.
  10. Yes, I have noticed more and more hunters starting to let 1.5 and 2.5 yr old bucks walk in the last couple years.. Me preaching it all the time may have pursuaded them some I am sure. It would be great to see a better age class of bucks running these New York woods. This state definately has the potential to do so, in most counties. The price of everything will rise as usual. Everything hunting related, draws this state along with the nation an unbelievable amount of income. I agree it will only get tougher to persue our dreams, financially and physically.
  11. I hear you there. I defiantely would not post "qdm private property" .. but as you said keep it legally posted at all times. On my way to and from work, i pass a couple properties that are posted with QDM signs, i mean its cool to see but like you mentioned, its an open invite that the deer herd there may be better than usual and hunting pressure may rise. I really do wish we could do what you have started there, at my place. Im going to keep on top of my neighbors with this issue and try to pursue this. That would be my dream. Even just from the 50/50 passing up of young bucks we have a better herd all around. I'd post pics to show you but I cant sem to load photos on here. Im searching into QDM co-op leases for next year, whether i join a club or find qdm co-op farm i can lease myself. Its a passion.
  12. I shoot great with my setup now. I just would like one of my own. I used to shoot it when i was in tournaments and leagues years back, and loved it! It kept me in the Top 3 almost everytime. Its great for tightening groups or keeping groups tight, building muscle, stability you name it. I have never really looked into adding a spring trigger to mine, honestly I didnt even know you could. I will definately look into this and try to go forward this if it works. Have you done this before dbHunterNY? When i was in my teens I suffered from target panic, and my buddy who owns the local bow shop set me up with his "the answer" release (which he wont part with), I do not suffer anymore. I just would really love to find this release. It is an all around great release for making one a better shot, I beleive. I would never hunt with it though. Haha, we all know how that would go when big boy steps out and I cant release the arrow correctly You really have to shoot this release to realize it, you will absolutely HATE it at first, gaurunteed!!
  13. that puts me out of the co-op focus but i do still enjoy talking about it, learning and trying to acheive that rank. I apologize if that was ramble for this thread.
  14. Ours is all at will. There is no signing of anything. I wish we could be that strict. Myself and a few neighbors are that serious about it, but trying to get everyone in on the same page is near impossible. We have tried holding out for 4-1/2 and 5-1/2 yr old bucks but with our non participating neighbors surrounding us and it doesnt work. Sowe have found that we can harvest 3-1/2yr old bucks nearly every year and still be satisfied. Its tough though. The others just dont understand and or have the itch to just fill tags and draw blood. Both really. but i respect it, they pay their taxes and such too, just wish we could be as serious with a co-op qdm
  15. Sorry about that. I keep forgetting to take caps lock off. Its the format I use at work all day. Thanks I'll see if he still has it.
  16. HEY GUYS, MOST PROBABLY HAVENT HEARD OF THIS RELEASE I WOULD GUESS, BUT I COULD BE TOTALLY WRONG TOO.. BUT IM LOOKING FOR A RELEASE ITS CALLED "THE ANSWER" RELEASE BY GOLDEN KEY.. THIS RELEASE IS EXACTLY WHAT ITS CALLED! THE ANSWER! THEY DISCONTINUED MAKING THIS A WHILE BACK AND ITS BASICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ONE ANYWEHRE. I SHOOT A SCOTT LITTLE GOOSE AND LOVE IT, BUT THIS RELEASE WOULD BE STRICTLY FOR TARGET AND PRACTICE PURPOSES. IF ANYONE HAS ONE OR KNOWS WHERE I MAY BE ABLE TO FIND ONE, ID GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR QUITE SOME TIME, AND THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE TO TRY. LET ME KNOW. THANKS EVERYONE!
  17. I HAVE YET TO BREAK ANY TINES ON THE TILLER BUT I KNOW ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. KNOCK ON WOOD. LUCKILY I FOUND (3) SETS OF DISCS (5) HARROW DRAGS THIS PASS SPRING, SOMEONE WAS GOING TO SCRAP.. 150$ BOUGHT THEM ALL AND MOST OF THEM ARE IN WORKING CONDITION. THEY SAVE THE TRACTOR SOME WEAR AND TEAR.
  18. NO THIS SET IS ON 371 OUTSIDE OF COHOCTON. SMALL 2 BOTTOM. MY ONLY WORRY WAS BEING HYDROSTATIC.. I PICKED UP A 7" SET OF PULL BEHIND DISCS (2 ROWS FRONT 2 IN BACK) AND IT PULLS IT GOOD, EVEN WITH THE R4 TIRES I DONT HAVE ANY PLOTS LACKING ROCKS.. LUCKY ME TIME TO HIRE SOME PICKERS THIS SPRING.. BEER BBQ AND BONFIRE USUALLY PAYS WELL HAHA
  19. SEEMS LEGIT FOR THE AREAS I HUNT, 8P & 8N. THE DOE SIGHTINGS AND TAKE ARE LESS FREQUENT THEN YEARS PASS IN AT MY PLACE IN 8P, AND 8N WHERE I HUNT IS OVERLOADED WITH DOES(AG FARM COUNTRY) .. GUESS THATS WHY YOU CAN ONLY GET 1 DOE PERMIT FOR 8P AND 4 FOR 8N
  20. HOW DO YOU GUYS POST PICS ON HERE? ILL SHOW YOU SOME BRUTES WE HAVE BEEN GROWING. THAT IS IF I CAN FIGURE IT OUT. HA THANKS.
  21. THERE ARE SO MANY ROCKS HERE IT IS UNREAL. IT WORKS THE TILLER PRETTY HARD. PLUS THE SOIL IS LIKE CLAY HERE, ITS NICE WHEN MOIST BUT HARDER THAN HELL WHEN DRY. IM GUESSING ITS SHALE OR SLATE .. THINNER, WIDER ROCK AND LOTS OF IT. BUT SEED GROWS WELL, SO I WONT COMPLAIN ANYMORE. HAHA. THIS YEAR HAS BEEN KINDA WIERD THOUGH, I DONT KNOW IF ITS THE MOISTURE THIS YEAR BUT IN MY PLOTS WHERE IT USUALLY DIDNT GROW THE BEST IS GROWING GREAT AND WHERE IT USUALLY GROWS AWESOME ISNT GROWING WELL AT ALL. THINKING MYABE ITS LACKING NUTRIENTS? IM NOT SURE..
  22. IT DOES WORK GOOD. I JUST LIKE TO TINKER WITH ALL DIFFERENT STUFF, AND GET OPINIONS FROM EVERYBODY. I JUST HATE PICKING ALL THE ROCK. IT NEVER ENDS.
  23. THATS AWESOME! AND WITH THE 15" RULE. ITS A GOOD START TO GET PEOPLE HARVESTING JUST A LITTLE BETTER THAN AVERGAE BUCK. THEN AS YOU SAY TAKE BIGGER STEPS DOWN THE ROAD.. I WISH WE COULD GET ALL OUR SURROUNDING NEIGHBORS TO DO SO. WERE GONNA TRY AND SCHEDULE A "PICNIC" SOME WEEKEND WITH EVERYONE AND TRY TO GET MORE ON BOARD.
  24. THATS GOOD TO HEAR. THANKS. EVERYDAY ON MY WAY TO WORK I DRIVE BY A HOME THAT HAS 2 SMALLER OLDER SINGLE BOTTOM PLOWS FOR SALE AND I HAVE BEEN DEBATING TO STOP AND LOOK AT AND FIND A PRICE ON. BUT WAS NEVER SURE IF I COULD PULL ONE AND HAVE IT WORK PROPERLY. THEY ARENT SET UP FOR A 3PT HITCH THOUGH. LOOKS TO BE A PULL BEHIND. BUT I CAN WELD A FRAME UP FOR IT. SO FOR NOW I JUST USE MY TILLER AND OR A SET OF GANG DISCS AND HARROWS. TILLER WORKS GREAT BUT LOTS OF ROCK WHERE IM AT IN STEUBEN
  25. AGREED, MT624. I WOULD LOVE TO DO THE SERVICE FOR AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN TOO .BUT WORK LIMITS ME FROM DOING TO MUCH. IF I KNEW MY EQUIPMENT WOULD NEVER BREAK AND I HAD THE TIME I WOULD DO THIS FOR FREE, JUST TO SEE THE OUTCOME AND HEAR SOME STORIES THAT COME FROM IT! I LOVE FARMING FOR WILDLIFE! I'D CALL IT A PASSION RATHER THAN A HOBBY!
