Hopefully get a warmer decent day before this weekend, and ill pattern them quick. I have a Youth Mossy Maverick 20ga, with undertaker .572 22" bbl. and a Remmy 870 20ga 26"bbl with IC .555 & Carlsons Super Full .575 to pattern with. Id like to have one gun setup for tight patterns, and the other for good hunting patterns..

I finally got around to loading up some TSS Shells for the 20ga! 1-5/8oz #8 and some duplex loads of 7x8s. When New York ever gets around to changing the minimum shot size to legally hunt with, Id love to load some 9s, 9.5s and 10s for smaller calibers like the 410! These pellets flat out hit hard!! Let my daughter seal them with Nail polish and color them up some so I can distinguish the 2.. She loves getting involved.

Who has spring food plots started
LET EM GROW replied to Just Lucky's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Ive frost seeded clover plots, and planted a few pear trees, the few days we had a warm up between freeze and snows. Got a bunch more to do though. If your spreading clovers and chicory youll be good. But if you didnt kill off everything in the fall, you'll have some weed competition I would imagine. Not sure whats in antler king no sweat. but most anything besides perennial clovers and chicory wont make it with more freezing nights.. -
Same here! Life can suck sometimes! Lol

Frost seeding clover, oats?
LET EM GROW replied to sailinghudson25's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Ive had good luck just spreading clover seeds. as long as there isnt much competition and the ground isnt bone dry. -
Nice, I was liking that setup better, Just wasn't sure if it held up and lasted like the 5.3's usually do.
-
I heard about a sensor hear and there going.. As long as it isnt an oil pump sensor or what not I wouldnt mind. lol Does your ride have the 5.3 or 6.2L?

50-70k or less.. To me on these vehicles in particular that seems good. Since what I'm seeing and hearing is they will do 200k with no problem for the most part. Thats probably 8-10 years worth of driving for us doing 10-15kmi per year. Any other vehicle I probably would not consider that "low miles" by any means. I have a 2005 ram 2500 for hunting and dirty work purposes. I would put it on the roof or trunk of my Hot Rod Chevy cobalt before a deer went in the back of the SUV. As for dogs, we cant have them right now, my daughter has an allergy to the dander

That will be my advice and input to my wife when parking... Stay the F away from other cars lol. She darn near competely pushed a yellow concrete barrier pole over in a small parking lot with the front bumper on my truck one day.. I couldnt believe it lol Tried backing into a spot once since i told her that is the easiest way to make the "big swing" inito a spot. She curled the hood of the car right up behind her with the ball/receiver as she backed in.. Luckily the car she hit must not have had insurance or something cause they said it was perfectly fine and drove away!! lol She slucky I dont mind! haha. But the Tahoe will be a different story..

My grandmother had a qx80 and thats what made my wife want a big SUV.. But I do not see where you will ever find an infinty qx80 for cheaper than a chevy tahoe.. no way. maybe there base models
-
Yes sir.. Let her drive the Cummins 6spd.. that was a pleasure lol Shes good!
-
Yea i am kind of solely searching for the 2 bucket seat second row. Makes the access easier for 3rd row. It will be kids in the back 3rd row so im sure there is plenty enough room for them. I have a 9month old and a 3 yr old. SO one set is rear facing and other is front. Depending on how the 2nd row bench seat folds for access to the 3rd row.. I could maybe get by with sliding seat forward.. Ill have to check it out in person... (with the car seats lol) The 12 yr old boy will be backseat bound
-
I will be searching their inventory and others nearby then! thanks for the info. Yea the Yukon we rented was a 6spd. Def have to give a little to get some but i dont mind. ITs my wifes and im ok with that! IT will be her first v8! besides the occasional drive with my truck/hemi..
-
Agreed! But she has my ring and my kids.. lol She must stay Happy or else haha But theres just something about a woman and a v8.. SUV, Truck or car.. I dont care! lol
-
Yea I cant do that. Not a Toyota fan at all. lol Cant afford one anyways, and all of my "more well off" side of the family drive Toyota.. Wish Chrysler made a full sized SUV with the Hemi!
-
You aint kidding! I thought the same about my wife, just driving the 10-12 model around! lol. I see a couple 2015 models that might make the price range but I've read enough reviews on them to stay away.. But that is one sweet ride! I've never been a chevy fan.. Except for the square bodies and these tahoe/suburbans! Her journey is quite small compared to these, as long as she just slowed down and thought a little more.. she would be fine.. but you know some women lol!!
-
I was looking at them, but i can see my wife complaining about its looks already. But the drive trains arent too much different between the two models. i think? Seems like you get what you pay for with these vehicles with proper maitenence
-
Arcade Hunter, That is what i was hoping to hear. I believe in 2009 they added the 6spd tranny? The ones i am looking at all have 6spd transmissions. We also go to the OBX every year as well, Are the prices any different down there? Was hoping to get one before the trip in August but if the prices are much better i can wait lol I figured if i bought one certified or with a good car fax report around 50k-70k It would have around 150-170kmi in 5 or 6 years when w emay trde up.. but still be strong from what I'm hearing on yours and others reviews. It seems they are barely broken in by 50k miles..

Unless time permits you to asap, it will probably hit the ground at the same time.. -

Wait til the couple inches of snow is left and spread it, at this point. That is what im doing. It wont hurt. I cant even drive in to my place, and im not making that long of a walk with the amount of snow we have. I have a feeling its going to just go straight to spring weather in a few weeks and because of the present snow cover, we wont see much of a freeze thaw routine. -
I dont know if my wife could handle an XL or Suburban. Or else i would in a heart beat. I am afraid for the vehicle and others within any parking Lot. lol. Having that extra couple feet in length worries me with her driving record. Shes to blame for all but 1 dent on my truck, and all the dents on her vehicle lol. So everyone beware! haha

We rented one a few years back for our first trip to S.C. and loved it. But that was only for a week, and it was basically new. I could not justify the price tag of a new one either. That is insane. She was thinking Town and Country Mini Van, and I was ok with that.. but The big SUV is More safe, Nicer from what I've read, also asked a mechanic buddy, he stated that they are less to maintain when it comes to front end work and such.. Fuel mileage wouldn't be much different either..

Hey all, In the next few months I will be in the Market to purchase my wife a new vehicle. We need bigger than our Current Dodge Journey, even with its small 3rd row seating is just a PITA to get in and out of with car seats. I want them safe as possible and am really looking to get her into a good Used Tahoe or Yukon, with low mileage 2010-2012 ish models.. It will be used for trips to S.C. to visit relatives and vacations occasionally.. Also to tow an 18' boat, and utility trailer occasionally throughout the year. I am just looking to see what everyone thinks about them, that has owned one before. I hear a lot of good stuff about them, besides the price being a little high usually. And that they are solid vehicles even as they approach 200k if maintained properly.. We will be keeping this vehicle for as long as possible and probably only be putting 12-15k miles per year on it.. I like the bucket seats in the 2nd row, for ease of access to 3rd row.. especially with childens car seats.. Thanks in advance. Bryan
