Just wondering. If you look at the attached pics wou will see some time discrepancies.
-
Second time a question like this was asked. I have to agree. the DEC site has all the info. Faster and easier to look yourself, then to ask in here.
-
I edited my nic because my g/f made a statement to me when I was trying to sell her ammo, that using cyanide in my nic, may not be a good thing. Not in a hunting site anyway. So I changed it. Anthing else you want to rip into me about Lawdwaz? This is pretty much it in a nutshell. Seeing a fawn with spots hanging in a basement when I was about 23, made me sick to my stomach. That was pretty much why I have not hunted for more years then some people in here have been alive. Like I said, this thread was not in any way judgement of anyone. It was just me venting.

And people are questoing me...

Can an Admin please delete this thread/topic? The items have been removed from sale here.

Cyalume Lights. The big ones.

This is the site I use for the times in my area: http://sunrisesunset.willyweather.com/ny/schenectady-county/central-state.html I also look at The Weather Channel. I made a typo. As for the time, I really don't care what time someone in Rottenchester can go in the woods, it's not my problem. Nor is it my problem the time a hunter in the Plattsburgh area goes in the woods. I am of the full light type. I took the light that came on my Tru Glow off! If I can't see it clear, I am not shooting. Ya know what, it's fine. I get it.

FFS! Sunrise today was like 7:10 or 11. I was in the woods early because of the thread I just posted. If you want to attack me, so be it.
-
OK. I can't edit the first post, but I fixed it. I had a 5 where a 6 should have been Yes, I was still early. I hadn't walked into the spot in the dark before. So I was anxious and left my home early, and got there early. So, seeing as everyone else is so perfect, I guess a typo gets me flamed. That's OK.
-
Today was like 7:10 or so. Yeah, I know, I sat in the dark for a long time. First time out this season I was anxious. Not like the time differs much within the state. My rise/set time for the next week only varies by like 1 minute. OK, I'll bite, why do you ask? -------------------- Edit, OMG! LOL. I mean 6:10 Sorry. I told you all in my intro I was a typo prince...

Steps, Sticks, Rails. What Do You Like And Why??
DirtTime replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Deer Hunting
Screw ins. But, you can't use them on State land in NY. So way back when I made my own rope steps. -
This may sound like an odd thing to carry, but Super Glue and Duct Tape. Both will help stop bleeding, and the tape could be used to secure a splint.
-
Hmmmm...I think that means wooly is for hire....Just sayin........

Holy $hit dude! Glad you weren't in it. I have a 20 MPH rule, and that's for big based no dead branches at all trees. Now, I think I might change to 10 MPH.

Kind of a tricky one here. If you call, and the person gets nailed, they might just come messing with your gear/stands if you leave them out. At the same time, you don't need the headache of having this near your hunting land. I would drop the dime, then post the living crap out of the land you will be using. This is one time where if your gear gets messed with, you will have a prime suspect.

I just spent about 30 minutes helping a Jr. Hunter, right in here. I and three other people had the law wrong. It was nice to help him out and I actually learned something new maself, and was able to find and get him the right info he was asking for. That's it should be. My humble opinion anyway. What the DEC feild people should know, and what they do know, has seemed out of whack for more years then I have been alive.

Good luck to young brother. I hope you get a nice deer in your first season!

After a very late and rough start to the Bow Season, I finially got out this morning. Wasn't eventful. Was sitting by 5:10 on the ground in some natural cover. I saw nothing. A few birds, and rain. Got wet, that was it. Still, it was far better to be out there hunting then sitting on the sofa. Planned to be in for an evening sit, but the heat and wet ground kind of kicked my but, so I stayed home. Have to remember to at least get a small hunting chair for now. May head out in the morning. Not sure yet. I think I may wait for this heat to break on the weekend.

Myself and anyone who said no, owe you a very humble appology Izayah. You can indeed use your bow as a Jr. Bowhunter. Again, I appologise. I honestly forgot you were young.
-
That's a good point. I forgot you are a Jr. Hunter. Sorry about that. Searching the DEC site now for an answer to that.

4J is in Albany and Scenectady counties. Not Suffolk or Westchester. So it's still no. All the county lines, WMU areas can get very confusing for a new hunter. You just have to make sure you read a lot from the DEC site. Here's another link that will tell you about the entire 4 WMU. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9338.html

1st aid kit good sharp knife two flashlights ( one pref a head lamp ) rope or strap for dragging deer COMPASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a whistle ( just in case you get turned around ) Just off the top of me head.
-
Nope. Quote from this DEC page: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8310.html I am not sure all of 4J is bow only, just the Preserve. I might be wrong on that, but I am pretty sure you can use a firearm during the regular season in that area on private land.

Many good points made on why each is good. Sat on the ground this am. Wasn't much fun. Saw nothing. Bailing on the afternoon hunt, to hot, damp, and sticky. Never did like hunting in the rain much. Gonna have to butter up the g/f tonight and pick up a climber.
