  1. Is this thread just for folks with an I-Phone or a phone with instant aceess to the web? Or can we just give a play by on what happened on the hunt? Sorry, new here, and I do not have a web connection to my cell phone. If it wasn't for a few health issues I have I wouldn't even take my phone into the woods with me.
  2. I know............But......................I do try.......I may fail, it just makes me try harder......
  3. I was thinking, send it to "Mountain Monsters". They might put you on TV and tell everyone it's the NY Killer Fang Beast. But, I really was trying to be nice.......
  4. I would watch. What direction does he head when he walks/runs off? What time of day is the buck being seen? I would use this information. Then I would set up a spot closer if possible. It's a risk, but with a situation like this, It may be worth the end result.
  5. Def not a fox or coyote. Snout's off for that, and the hair looks to short as well. Feril, maybe a coy-dog?
  6. Two day late, buy Happy B-Day, and I hope you got a 12 PT as your gift.
  7. I used to save them. They have gotten lost over tie though. I doubt I will save them anymore.
  8. I may have come off crass, but I will never negate my thoughts on how hunters should act! Especially in this day and age! When I got into bow hunting, my local range had an all ages program to help new bow hunters, or even those who may be having issues. As long as you had paid you $20 a year membership fee, the class was free and members could attend. I learned a lot, and I asked a lot of questions. At times, I swear they wanted to beat me with my own bow! I was 21. If not for those two men who donated three hours every Saturday, and 2 hours on Sunday, to help new hunters like me out, I would have never stayed in bow hunting. If some jerk had mouthed off to me the way you say you did, At that time in my life, I would have knocked the SOB right in the mouth! Why not talk to the people at your range/club and try and get a program to help new shooters of all ages? Volenteer your time, and ask others to do the same. Acting like this and spouting off will not cure the problem! Doing somethng to try and help new hunters, even gun hunters, will do more good then bitching about it! I personally think I am in a tree stand looking at a brick wall when it comes to getting the reality of the things you say about this in a forum everyone can see through to you! You think those anti-hunters don't read this forum? HA! It's all out there for everyone too see. They thrive on this fluff! THANK YOU FOR PLAYING! Try QBert next time..........
  9. This was the thread that lit a fire in my backside and made me register! To Mr. James, I think you are one of those miserable old men ( or young man, w/e ) who just looks to find a fault with people! While I agree that these "YOUNG" hunters will need to get things right, I do NOT AGREE with how you handle yourself in reference to this topic! Instead of ripping into new shooters, offer to help out! Give advice! If you are so damn good, then offer to have them stop by the range once a week or so and you can teach them! We need to help new or young bow hunters! It's a part of the ethics of hunting! At least for me and the people I know! We should be encouraging new hunters, helping when we can, to make the sport grow! Not acting like a teething three year old oursleles!
  10. My bow is old. '94 PSE Thunder-Flite Express. Had to buy used and was on a super tight budget ( $200 was all I could scrape together this season ). Put the best sights and rest I could for now. Seems to be pretty nice shooter for the age, I haven't shot a bow since I was 24, so most of the issues I have are user related. Still getting 4 inch groups at 35 yards with her and my rusty frame.
  11. Was reading through some of the threads in here for a few days now, so figured I may as well just register and say hello. I used to hunt all the time from the age of 14 until I was around 24 or so. Then, life got in the way, as does for some people now and again. Got back into hunting last year. I still get mad at myself for sitting out for 10 years! One of the main places I hunt now is private land a buddies father owns. Catch is, I can't hunt the land unless my buddies with me. When he told me this year he would only have maybe two weekends for us to hunt, I sold what I could, scraped enough cash, and bought a used bow. At least now I can hunt the Pine Bush ( 10 minutes from me ) when ever possible. The bad thing was I didn't get time to really get all my ducks in a row, so I am still getting the bow set up and dialed in. Hoping for next weekend. On a side note, I have been told by "some" I am sarcastic. Hence the Username. Been called that for 10 years or so now. To be honest, I don't know what they are talking about. I am just direct and make no bones about s$$@. LOL I am also a typo prince..So read with caution.
