Figured as much. Thanks.
-
LOL! Now that's a good one. Lamb fries on the side?
-
Thank you for the heads up. Will do.
-
Thank you. Now I am hungry.......

Not your property., so I wouldn't touch any of it. I would let the owner know and leave it up to him how to proceed. Just my opinion, but if you touch the stand or cam, it might bite you in the backside as theft or vandalism.

I have never had a tick on me until this morning. In a little over an hour I must have flicked at least 5 to 10 off me. It was like sitting on an ant hill. Getting some Deets. This was out of control....
-
That works too.

Headed out with no sleep............0_o Sat in a new spot this morning. Mild weather barely any wind. Found a nice tree with two nice lanes to shoot and sat down. I figured the people on the other side might kick a deer or two in my direction on their way in. Got in at 7, and by 8:30 I was so tired of ticks crawling on me I couldn't sit still anymore so I called it a morning. No deer sighting. Hoping for an evening hunt in NZ. Waiting to hear back.

Really didn't have a more polite way to put it. LOL Hunting public land is starting to burn me out. Areas to small for the amount of people hunting it. So I got a bit over excited.
-
Naw. Skateboarders use top grade stuff, does the same thing and it's not all to expensive.

Just got off the phone with my buddy. I got permission to hunt his parents neighbors land in the NZ! 100 acres just went up to 140 acres! Seem some great deer coming off that other 40 the past three years camping up there! Bunch of turkey noise as well! I may just call him back and head up there tomorrow instead of next week! Sheesh! My heart is pumping like I just saw a deer on a sit.

I am having a hard time trusting this for a November/December hunting trip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9Dp-h4ET6s Anyone here think this would work?
-
Sorry to hear about the pacemaker. Bright side, you are out there. Good luck with the turkeys, and hope everything goes well so you can take a monster deer this season!

I have used them before. Planning on picking up a new one. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Garmin-eTrex-10-2.2-Portable-GPS/17167593 They come in handy if you get one that can be set to lock in specific locations. Helps a lot when on public land and you don't want to leave markers to your stand location. I still use and carry a compass though.

Gonna let yesterday be yesterday. Maybe I over reacted. Can't change it. Been out a couple times. Last Sunday AM. Monday AM. All I saw on Sunday was a lot of people. Watched a few go in, and back out 40 minutes later. Mon. AM, sat for about an hour, got in late almost 9. Notta. Heading out tomorrow for an AM hunt. Expect to just see more people. Gonna take some advice I got for the area and just wait out the morning rush and see what happens. Afternoon, taking a ride to see if I can get permission to hunt an area I used to almost live in during bow season. Fingers crossed.

Nothing wrong with a hand made wood ladder. As long as you take care of 'em should stay safe and last a long time. My thoughts last month about the aluminum ladder was weight based. I can carry a 20 footer in alone and set it to the tree alone. Because it's all one piece, it won't bow in the middle like some climbing sticks do. Does that skid proof paint really work? I was looking at some last summer for my back porch steps.

Yep, them Hornady SST's get expensive. I would take something for ticks. Just to be on the safe side. Good luck on the hunt.
-
Happy Birthday to you both.

Welcome. As moog5050 said, be cautious of the wind. Keep at it, as you should well know deer hunting is a game of patience and timing. How is the pressure where you are hunting? Is enough to actually make the deer change habits?
-
Sorry if I got a bit out of line here. But, like Grizz and I mentioned. Using slugs should make you take your butt to the range and at minimum, sight in. Just spraying shot at ground level, I just don't like the thought of it.

I have bought some quality stuff from over seas. I have bought some crappy stuff from over seas. I have bought some quality " Made In The USA" stuff, and I have bought some really crappy stuff. I agree with your comment Belo. Just because it was made in China or w/e, doesn't always mean it's crap. I made that comment before in this thread. There's also the issue of, not everyone has $2000 a year to buy the next super bow. Not everyone makes $100,000 a year. LOL

First off, this was what we in the world of owning and running a forum call a "baited thread". Something to just kick people in the pants to see who they can rile up. The original poster hasn't even commented since he made the thread. Now, onto this! Who said make it illegal? Sure wasn't me! Don't get things twisted, and un-bunch those panties! Just because it's recommended for law enforcement to kill people at 20 feet, does NOT make it really a good option for deer! So ease up dude. The OP asked a question which would get varied and heated results. We all have an opinion, doesn't make us right or wrong.

I can only laugh at this one. This actually just another reason to not allow it! If some d/a who doesn't take the time to site a shotgun or rifle just spits out rounds, not caring where they go, then allowing them to use a shot-shell with a few lead balls inside will never bother to sight in. "It's just like bird-shot, point and shoot! Yeee haw!"........................
-
I really thought I might be alone on this idea. Paint 'em, add some no slip strips on the rungs just to be safe........Not a carry in/out every hunt thing, but, still a great idea.

I was thinking that for the past month. Good grade aluminum ladder, lash it to the tree with good ratchet straps, and it should be far more stable then any of the stick ladders out there.
