  1. I have seen some sxs for sale around me fairly reasonable. That about as close to a golf cart as you'll get. May not help you all they way across the state though.
  2. Looking around at some box calls. I really like the way my Quaker Boy slate and HS Strut glass pot sound. So I'm leaning towards those for the box. I really want to go as light as possible and not carry a bunch of calls with me, but I decided to get a box call over the Summer anyway so.........
  3. Biz bought it to match his shoes and belt. He can try to blame the baby but we know better.
  4. I'm seriously thinking the same thing about the shock calls. Owl before light and the crow after. It just seems to make sense in my pea sized brain. I'll have a closer look into them.
  5. So what you're actually looking for is a gas powered golf cart with knobby tires?
  6. Got any tips for a more affordable box call?
  7. Here's a little food for thought. The ADK's have far more areas that do not have proper food sources to hold turkey. This is big woods hunting, just for turkeys not deer. There's no sitting next to AG areas that hold a ton of birds.
  8. OK people, miles was a frikin' exaggeration One would think it would have been implied I mean long distances. Sheesh! LOL
  9. @Foggy Mountain, I think I'll take any advice @blackbeltbill and @Pygmy have to offer. They know their shit and have proven it time and time again when it comes to killing turkeys. Along with plenty of other great bird killers on here. In fact, that the short one likes to knock them down in another country as well. I appreciate your opinion though, thanks for posting it.
  10. Win or loose I would just like to get the Titans over with. Buffalo is a different team then the last time they met during the season. I forgot about that BS. Honestly, every game this Bills play from here on out it theirs to loose. If they keep clicking I don't see anyone stopping them.
  11. Are they taller then @Pygmy is what I want to know. I lost count on the rabbits I almost ended going to hunting areas last season. No possums, but there's a few areas where the damn bunnies are suicidal. I won't lock up the brakes for them, and was glad I didn't hear and feel that thump for a lot of them.
  12. Hopefully next season for at least a morning hunt. Thank you. The YouTube channel is trucking along, never had a goal for it and still don't. If people watch great, if not I doubt I'll fall into a coma. I want to add a few more how to videos but we'll see how it goes. I'm even thinking of starting to sell the gun slings down the road. I'm also going to have some videos of knives I'll be making ( not forging, just making some custom knives based on blade blanks ) hopefully. Those may end up a hobby and sell some here and there to offset the cost of materials. I went out and played in the muddy yard. Does that count?
  13. That last line is a serious one. The Bills have a lot on the line today. #2 seed and a bunch of records can be broken. Allen to put more of a statement on being MVP as well as surpassing Bledsoe's passing record, a tie for a franchise win record ( should be passed and setting a new one, frikin' Cardinals! ), and a few more. We'll see how today plays out, but I don't think they are going to sit idle and hope for a Steeler loss to get that #2 seed and next week off. At the same time they have already put some key players on the bench to keep them healthy. I'm figuring they'll play Allen for at minimum the entire first half hoping to get some points up and ride them to a win. I've been surprised this season with the points, yards, and wins since we do not have the running game we have the past 7-8 years. Getting it done is what matters in the bigger picture though.
  14. Half right. I had my birthday set, then some odd things went on around here like that splash page hack job BS, so I altered it. Didn't see the need to change it back. I have a birthday every year so I said last year when the day came up I was going to leave it and roll with it. LOL So thank you all for the Birthday wishes. Went out in the yard and made a fire with flint and steel to make me some coffee seeing I don't drink anymore.
  15. Well, they already found a new strain of C19 that started in the UK and somehow ended up in CO. We have a royal DB taking office next month, so yeah... Bring on 2021- I can't wait.
  16. I won't know about the pressure until I get up there. From research ( the web, so I take that as what it is ), the area doesn't get hunted much for turkey. Opening day of the regular deer season last year we drove by the place and it was empty. 5 miles up the road were trucks and cars lined up for a long ways. There's a small lake where I plan to camp so I feel fairly confident there may only be a few people fishing but not hunting. If ice out is over. Late May and I'll only get two hunts up there, Saturday morning and a few hours on Sunday. Which also means I have to make sure I still have a tag. Hoping there isn't still a foot or more of snow on the ground as well. It's been on the bucket list for a while now and weather permitting I'm crossing it off the list. Thank you for the replies.
  17. I have a hunting trip for this Spring in the ADK's. Won't be able to roost or scout anything. I talked to some of the locals last Fall and was told the only way to kill a turkey up there was to do so in someone's yard because you can't call them in. I don't buy that. Yes I'll be playing a guessing game but, I highly doubt the only way to tag a tom will be on private land. I have never hunted the area I'll be in, hence going in cold. On the other side of that coin, I have seen a lot of birds in this area driving past it to and from hunting deer up there. So I'm hopeful due to that aspect. How many of you have successfully called in birds from miles away? Should I invest in a few more calls besides my locators and pot calls? Maybe a box call?
  18. Looks like the same schedule they had a few years back. Same teams new year. Looks like a 16-0 undefeated season to me.
  19. Happy ( belated ) Birthday to the second most infamous Bunny Man.
  20. Just bathe in apple juice. It can't be any more expensive then some of the other crap out there. If you're hunting near a cow pasture just walk through every 'pile'. If you can stand the smell of yourself I'm sure it will cover any human scent. Warning for this one, I'm not responsible for any wives/girlfriends/boyfriends/husbands or sheep that kick you out of the house smelling like a cow pattie.
  21. I didn't know the forum was doing events again. I think I'll be skipping this one.
  22. I read about a lot of people pizzen on scrapes to make a buck think he's got competition. Get some adult diapers and just let everything flow?
  23. It will never go through before the new jackass is inaugurated in anyway now. I'm also pretty sure if Trump wanted to get this done he could do what all the other idiots have done in the past, and just write an executive order. Writing those things was Obama's way of life when he was in the house.
  24. Can't say I endorse it either, but it seems to work. I guess one could just light the ciggy and let it burn without actually smoking it.
  25. It always cracks me up when people bag on social media places but still have their head so far up those places ^$$3$ you can't tell where the site starts and the individual ends. Using YouTube for news and then complaining about it is like trying to start a fire made with snow and using ice cubes as tinder.
