A pack of non filter smokes and black coffee. Lotta deer have fallen to that combo.

Is this stuff actually for sale or are you just testing the water again? It would cost you more to ship it then you will make. You should have given it to the person you sold the Deerslayer to just to be a good guy.

During the gun season? Orange vest is always on when I hunt public land. Most of the time so is an orange cap over a winter hat. Even if I'm wearing my read plaid jacket in warmer temps, the orange vest is still on. I also hang an orange hat somewhere near me during the bow season because I hunt from the ground. The only private land I hunt on I don't wear orange.

Dissension. Always divided as hunters. Can't we agree on anything? -

Well that sucked! Headed back to the local mountain 10 minutes out. 200 yards up past the first shelf I feel rain hitting me in the head. Then it opened up on me and poured. By the time I did the walk back down I was soaked. Time to bust out the oil and give the 25-06 a good wipe down now. There are just times when one should follow their gut. I should have listened. -

Wife's not putting the bird in until Noon, and seeing we don't have a bunch of people to make food for I have a few hours so I'm heading out to see if I can knock something down doing a little still hunting. -

Sitting today out. Rain on and off all day and just the wife and I for the festivities. So I'm going to run around in sweat pants all day. I'll be out tomorrow with a couple turkey sandwiches in the pack. Knock 'em dead kids! -
Someone shot my wife's deer with a pellet gun

Someone testing out the theory of air guns for deer maybe? No expansion, so I'll wait for the new ballistic tips before I try one. -

Lucky you. 15-20MPH wind, cloudy, real feel of 29* on the side of the mountain I was on. Good luck out there. In before first light. This was the first morning in a while I didn't see anything. No squirrels, no song birds, no deer, nothing. Well, I did watch two different flocks of geese going the wrong way, someone should tell them it's time to go south, not north. -

Reckon since I'm already awake, I may as well go freeze my balls off hoping for a shot. -

$400 is way to steep a price point for me to run any experiments. If they want to send me some of it for free I'll check it out though. After looking at some pictures I have taken over the last two years I noticed a big difference between Mossy Oak and RealTree that I hadn't before. Mossy Oak is more subdued and darker hued. The coat and pants I have blend in pretty well during the Spring when I'm turkey hunting. But in the Fall, once the leaves start to change I noticed the stuff I have in RealTree blends in a much better. So I'll be picking up a cold weather coat in Realtree for next season. My first camo was mil spec in woodland. M65 Field Jacket with liner and a pair of BDU pants a couple sizes big to fit some layers under them. I experimented with the Tiger Stripe pattern but it wasn't true mil spec gear and lasted a season then fell apart. Red plaid is still big in the hunting world during the fire arms seasons. Classic, breaks up your outline, and it's hard to beat one made from wool. I saw something that made me bust out laughing last weekend coming back from hunting with my wife. I'm looking out at the fields and into the trees. Ever since I started seeing tree stands 10 feet from roads I look into the trees. I see this very out of place "white blob" part way up a tree. It was a hunter in snow camo. He/she stood out like a sore thumb to me, so I can't even imagine what a deer would see looking at that. It did not blend in at all.

All those beer pics everyday start to add up don't they?

When I scout I pay close attention to tracks, direction to and from bedding-food-water. I set accordingly for different wind directions. I hunt from the ground so making a few brush blinds in the same area is fairly easy of there's enough debris laying around. I always try to keep the wind at me whether I'm sitting or still hunting. It's just the one of many things that's etched into my brain. On the hunt I mentioned I made a secondary blind up the ridge a little more so I can see over one area and have the original blind off to my left before I packed up to leave, so if they come up that way again they will be on my left. There was a lot more to how this all went down then I can put into words. From my back and on my off side. If that had been a legal buck I would have, and was ready to take that shot left handed. I don't shoot left handed, but I have shot a few of my hunting guns to see how far I'm off, surprisingly not far being right handed and left eye dominant. A couple inches difference. I'm giving more thought to playing a cross wind when possible instead of right at me. But, there are no rules a deer or wind follow, so no matter what you do to play the wind, the deer will eventually play you.

The place in Colonie closed, so without driving an hour that's all I can think of. B&D Gunsmoke in Rotterdam will do it, but that's a drive. Might be worth the ride though if Flying Arrow won't get it done for you.
