This pack doesn't seem loud to me, a lot quieter then my older packs. For the money so far I'm impressed. It has plenty of little areas to separate gear. I still have to dig out my old over-nighter pack and see how the old A.L.I.C.E. pouches work, I doubt I'll need them though.

My wife rolled her eyes a bit when I bout the pack. I have a few, but none of them really did everything I want from a day pack. I have an old Med. A.L.I.C.E. pack I used to use for one or two night trips in the back country, but that's way to big for just a day hunting or hiking. I rarely carry a pack anymore, but I wanted something for next season hunting trip that I can carry some first aid gear, and some gear to get through the night if I get turned around. Hoping to give it a test run after this cold snap is over, and so long as the parking areas have been plowed wherever I decide to go. That looks like a nice pack as well Bill.

I would say 15" here, but with ice and rain pushing it down more like 12". Wind started getting into it more about an hour ago, 8* with a reel feel of -9*.

Post up a pic Bill. I''m not really a fan vests either. But I thought you made a post about vests.

I haven't actually field tested it yet. But, I don't see any issues. I know you are like me Bill, limited budget, but from what I can see so far, this will have plenty of space for for everything from calls to food and a stove for a full day out. If you can get the cash up, I think this pack would be great for you too.

This is OK. Pretty bitter and tastes like grapefruit rine. I may be what the label says, but I won't be buying this one again. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

I picked this up this morning. Seems like a solid day pack. Fieldline Pro-Series Prey Pack. 29.5 liter Has some MOLLE webbing so I can add a few of my old ALICE pouches for extra storage. I have been looking at getting a new day pack for a few months now. This fit what I was looking for, seems pretty damn sturdy, and was only a slight dent to the wallet at $30. Sorry, the pic is a pic is a bit wonky.

Just started here about 1/2 hour ago. Starting to coat already. Light and coming down fast. They keep going back and forth on the accumulation, last I heard for my area, it was between 15"-17", as far as how much snow I think, I would say they have under-marked this one. This storm dumped multiple feet of snow in states far warmer then we have it here, so I guess it's a waiting game right now. Back when I snowboarded a lot, I would have been stoked and driving somewhere to ride tomorrow. Now days, I hate these storms, not great for small game hunting until the snow gets a crust on top.

This was brought up in the past. I want to see the hunting population start growing again, and I really don't care who they are or if they want to wear a damn french tu-tu ( or wtfe it's called ) at home. As long as they hunt safely, responsibly, and ethical- welcome them in.

Baked a ham. Sides are sour cream and chive scalloped potatoes and cauliflower with spicy queso. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Really? Just keep telling yourself everything YOU say is right.

W/E dude. You just came off as a hypocrite yourself! Do you proof read before you hit the post button? At times you make about as much sense as the political threads. It's OK for things to be done this way, as long as you say it's OK. So many people on here need to get over themselves. We haven't had a CWD post in a few weeks, maybe you should start one up. Troll!

That sucks! I really agree with calling local LEO's. If you have too, keep calling. That's all I can suggest. On a side note, who the @#$% hunts 1/4 acre? Really? I think between my two lots I have very close to that, and it's not much land. Best of luck to you on getting this under control. Keep us posted.

If you are so concerned your sheds would be sold then get a wood burning tool and brand them. As for the high fence issues, not a fan anymore then I'm fan of taking kids fishing at a fish farm. If people want to teach younger people, or even older new comers to fishing or hunting, you take them to a real lake, pond, or stream for fishing - or in the real woods to learn to hunt or even shed hunt. We have enough issues with the younger generations with "I want it now! What do you mean I have to work for it!" crap.

Ugh............ Listen, once again, I am PRO CONSTITUTIONAL EVERYTHING! I am not fan of the the laws being shoved down our throats! But, its not going to change. I keep stating things, and no one gets it, this is how the world works now, everything you post in the www is recorded, it's nothing new. So if you are so damned afraid of "Big Brother" seeing what you post on the internet, then don't post! Do some friggin' research! If you think posting on just this site keeps you 'safe', you are sadly mistaken. I'm not even sure why I am defending my stand on this thread. I still hate when people use use other states regulations to puff up their political pigeon chest! Please, show me a link for THIS state where this is an actual bill the in progress. PLEASE!

All he has to do is beat the cheating Pats, and hope the Rams beat N.O. .

I'm really hoping for K.C. VS N.O. for the Super Bowl. Saints win by 2 and Brees and announces he's retiring. The Saints are my #2 team, and I would love to see Brees get another ring and get out before he gets some nasty injury that would end his career. He's one of the all time greats, I really want to see him go out on the highest of notes, winning the Super Bowl ( again ).

I could have either asked this in the small game hunting section or here, so I am plopping it here. I am going tomorrow for some bushy tail hunting, and I plan to do some cooking while out there. I can't have a fire where I'm headed, so I have to use my single burner propane stove. Been a long time since I used propane in the winter or real cold temps, and back then the tanks would sit most of the day outside near our camp. Should I put the small propane tank in my truck tonight to get it acclimated to the cold, or just pack it up in the morning with the rest of my gear?

I call BS! Even here in NY, it has always been procedure/law to ask for proof of age to buy alcohol, tobacco products, firearms, ammo, and porn. So yes, you have to show them a valid and acceptable photo ID. By what you are putting out there this is already in place in other states? You seem to like to look things up, so please do post where the laws in New Jersey won't allow you to buy ammo being a NYS resident. I want to see the FACTUAL details on this, show some links to the "Research" you found.

I cannot find anything on the actual .GOV sites pertaining to this being a full fledged bill, but I found these: https://legiscan.com/NY/votes/S01038/2019 https://legiscan.com/NY/bill/S01038/2019

I don't think wooly can carve a baby worm from a twig using chainsaws.

As far as I know, you can't hunt power line areas in NYS. If I remember right, the power company ( whichever it might be ) leases the land with a right for usage, but all the other rights still hold to the land owner, so hunting rights would have to be given from the land owner, not the power company, and said land is still private property. The same goes for the gas lines. I have a gas line that runs across my lawn, which is why we get two lots in our lease, you cannot build on or obscure that tract. Again, the the main rights of that land still revert back to the land owner as far as permissions and access to the public.

When Do You Call It Too Cold To Hunt Small Game?

I'm talking real small game, rabbits and tree rats..... I would sit in -40 for a shot at a bobcat right here in NYS. -
