    See above posts for why. I live outside of Corning so about a hour south from Rochester . I know of 7 privately owned gun shops the farthest a 1/2 hour from me.i bet if you looked it up you would be surprised how many you have near you..

    I have a lifetime license, and when it was thrown around to boycot I sure would have if I could have.

    Have had quite a few guys at work talk to me about buying hunting gear at said stores. Some had no idea about the 3 Gun lobbyist that they hired on their board and I Informed them of this , and then theres others that know and still spend money and 4 of them own AR,s. I just don’t get it. Heck i don’t even own a AR but dang the writing is on the wall guys. I guess some guys principals are pretty easily swayed by saving a buck. Sad part is there are other pro gun stores that you can save money at also. It just baffles me..

    Welcome aboard neighbor. I like me some rugers also, lots of guys hunting with revolvers/ pistols on here. I bowhunt also and if the time ever comes I have to quit well crossbow it is . Hope you have luck with crossbow..

    Well for only the second time on the new lease with very little scouting, my wife had a small buck just out of bow range walk by . She couldn’t tell how many points he had. I had 3 doe come in behind me as I am getting every thing packed up to climb down and I get busted. Still mad at myself for not paying better attention.

    Well heading out to the new lease for the second time, I wanted to get out Sunday but was sick as a dog sun/ mon wicked head cold.so hoping between myself wife and the oldest we at least see a deer. No service up there so hopefully posting later..

    You have valid point, I have been hunting with red dots for close to 15 years now and I have never had the batterie go dead. But I do install new ones every year before gun season.

    Another suggestion for a very very tough red dot is the ultradot’s. They are reasonably priced and can take a ton of recoil. I have well over 3000 full tilt rounds down the pipe of my 44 with zero problems, heck guys use them on 454’s on up with no problems..

    I have a truglo mounted on my sons 30-30 and he loves it. just a suggestion I would go with a tube not a reflex, a tube would be way better in inclement weather. Any red dot should hold up to the recoil of a 7-08. I love my red dots..

    I killed many deer with my H&R smooth bore single 12 gauge with 3 inch mag sluggers.
