  1. Yep sure is, I load my pistol calibers 380’s, 38’s,357’s and 44’s on my lee turret . On my single stage lee I do my rifle calibers 300 savage , 30-30 and 7mm-08. I have turret plates for each caliber all set up and ready to go so all I do is swap out plates. If I were you I would take the free single stage one really can’t wear them out even a cheap lee one is over built.
  2. Quietly climb down and as wnybuckhunter said check your arrow then go home or back to the truck. Keep going over the shot in your head and where he went in to the brush. It will be hard but grab some breakfast etc. and if you can call a buddy to help track him. Myself I would give him as much time as you can, I wouldn’t go back in till noon at the earliest. Good luck and take your time..
  3. Bought the straps, bow holders and insulator strips for our stands for this year. Tested them out and very happy with it all..
  4. I pull mine up with a rope, I have my rope cut to length so when it’s taught with my bow on the ground I am up 23 feet. Third hand archery makes a bow holder that you can climb with your bow in it. I bought 3 of the holders for myself wife and my son and it is a high quality holder. My rope always goes in my fanny pack..
  5. I have never personally used them but have ate many of their tasty offerings from others. I say every year that I want to take some venison up to have them process it , but I haven’t yet..
  6. Sure looks like a elk or stag to me. Now thats cool..
  7. I let one of the biggest bucks I have ever had in my archery sights go because that was the only shot he gave me. I don’t regret it at all.
  8. Anyone else waiting till these warm temps succeed before going bow hunting ? It looks like next weeekend will be better so I may get out then. Just not in a hurry to get out there this year. In the past years I have hunted a bunch in early archery , so changing it up this year .I hope slow and steady wins the race.
  9. If it would have been a rotary dial now that would have been something. Wellsboro is a nice little p.a. town.
  10. I thought with my last post we would just let it go , but I see you can’t. And just a FYI I have shot numerous deer with my 44 out to 100 yards and recovered them with no problems.no tent or sleeping bag needed.. Have good weekend...
  11. Not surprising knowing what I know now, once getting the lease papers it was painless getting everything signed etc. This lease is only 8 minutes from my house so if it turns out to be decent I may have to put up with them..
  12. Found my first one on Craigslist, the one we got this year is with hunting lease network. Not too impressed nobody wants to return my calls and the guy that is supposed to cover our area cant seem to find time to return my texts.
  13. You have your opinion and I have mine. We can agree to disagree ..
  14. All I was stating is that handguns do not have to be a close encounter firearms. First you know nothing about me and how well I can or can not shoot.second shooting a deer with a bow at 100 yards is like apples to oranges comparison to firearms. Second you kinda contradicted yourself, you assume I don’t care about the deer shooting at that range, but you had no problem shooting woodchucks at 100 yards . yes they are vermin but it’s still taking a life. You are / were good enough to hit woodchucks at that range why couldn’t I be good enough to make a clean kill on a deer ? Not trying to start anything but your comments are a little hostile.
  15. With the correct bullet a 100 yard shot is very doable with a 44 mag. As long as the shooter does their part..
  16. I use a super red hawk 44 mag with a 9.5 inch barrel , I load my own with 21 grains of 2400 under a 260 grain Keith style hard cast bullet . I have chronographed this load and I get a consistent high 1390’s to low 1400FPS.i used to shoot 240 grain xtp’s ,never recovered a bullet and the deer were always dead after the shot. but after doing some research and reading about guys hitting shoulders with hollow points and it not going well . I decided to go to hard cast bullets that would penetrate no matter what . Also switched my wife over to a 158 grain Keith style bullet with a large meplat..
  17. I like to treat my hand gun hunting like archery I want 2 holes, so I want a bullet that will go through and through . Handguns do not have the velocity like a rifle to cause the shock that a 2000+ FPS rifle bullet has. Can and have deer been killed with Hollow points from pistols yep sure have, but I want to know if things get mucked up by the deer whirling at the shot or I just make a bad shot , I have a bullet that will help make up for said circumstances..
  18. Google 45 acp hunting rounds, you’ll find a bunch of em. Don’t use self defense rounds to hunt with ..
  19. Well thats cool as all get out, so how did the Fox fair? Did he get his butt whipped ?
  20. It has happend to all of us, no doubt. Funny thing is I remember all the blown shots just as well as the made ones..
  21. Soaking up the sun, he’s tired of the rain also..
  22. Sorry to hear that.. shoot a good one this year..

    Scary stuff

Holy crap, I read the thread and I get the guys flight instinct kicked in , but he is doing other hunters a disjustice by not getting some sort of law enforcement involved. This dumbass needs to go down for this because I will bet this is not the first time he’s done this..
  24. That 3rd pic he’s a shooter 6 ? No doubt..
  25. The grandson is cute little guy..
