If you were drunk and should not drive a vehicle but someone handed you the keys and said "here you go, take it for a spin," and you proceed to get into an accident that kills someone. Who's at fault? Is it the guy that provided the keys? Or is the guy who knew he wasn't capable of safely handling the car and yet did anyhow? The car is the firearm in this scenario, Baldwin was not capable of properly handling a firearm (clearly) and the driver was not capable of properly handling the car. Whether he says it or not, he is responsible. At least taking some of the blame on himself would give him some smidgen of dignity as a man. I hear what you're saying though. As far as seeing deer goes I had my best season ever, by far. I saw +/- 30 bucks, not too many BIG does at all but I've seen enough to fill some tags. Nov 1-4 were a bowhunters dream for me. I saw +/-18 bucks in those 4 days, had opportunities at a 3.5yr old + every single day in bow range. Where my season took an immediate turn for the worse on the 4th when I lost a really good buck. I've never drilled one directly in the shoulder blade before, but I have now. That buck was alive 4 days later, after that I have no idea. Gun season is usually really slow for us, the bucks are generally all gone off the lease by then. I've hunted roughly 6 times with gun and have seen deer every sit and only one sit where I couldn't have killed one (I saw 2 bucks at 590 yds). I've killed 3 does up to this point, which is enough meat for the wife and I. No more does for me, I'll kill a good buck if I happen to see one but I'm not planning on hunting a ton more. Time to start transitioning to steelhead and hopefully ice fishing. So, all in all, I had more opportunities at bucks than I ever have, and never punched that tag, to be expected every now and again when you target a specific age class. Antlers/big bucks are a bonus, the meat is what I want most at the end of the season and I have that. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

While I agree there are multiple wrongs here, I disagree. If I were to hand you a firearm and told you to point it at something you shouldn't and pull the trigger, would you at least first check to be sure it was unloaded? Or just trust me? If you can't handle firearms responsibly then you shouldn't be playing with them at all, movie set or not, armorer on sight or not... I sold firearms for 8 years, one thing never changed for me or my guys, every firearm we picked up, no matter who handed it to us, no matter if it was brand new out of the box, it was made sure to be unloaded and was always handed off to someone else, action open... I was just curious as your exact response seems to be the resounding answer a few years post AR. It's difficult to have a fair talk about it with a lot of people. I'm certainly not the poster boy for it, but I would like to see it done. What people don't seem to grasp is it doesn't create larger/healthier herds for only certain hunters, it creates more opportunities at larger deer for everyone. And those same hunters will usually report back something along the lines of "I don't care about larger bucks" which is a lie really, albeit hard to confess to. Thanks for your input. Last response. Have you ever heard the term "quality over quantity"? Would you rather go to a lake and catch 10" bass all day, or a different lake and catch 18" bass all day? What if I told you that the bass fishing in the 18" lake was strictly managed for quality fish? There were slot sizes for keeping fish. Are you still going to say you'd rather fish the 10" lake?? If you haven't gotten anything out of what I said up to this point then you won't. I guess if I could hope to get one point across to you it would be this: I want a change in season structure to appease myself and to ultimately give every hunter more opportunities at larger deer. You call that selfish. But don't for one second believe that because you say everyone should be able to shoot what they want and always wanting more seasons, more implements etc, that you aren't also being selfish. Of course it would appease me. The same way it would appease you if they added on even more season. And you're right, I don't care about every Time, Dick or Harry's feelings. I care about the deer. The season should never be setup to appease the hunters desires. Management is just that, it's for the health of the herd, period. So the fact that people are limited on time should not be a concern for the states management. To put it bluntly, I don't care about "cousin Eddie's woes" as to why he can't hunt this or that weekend. You make do with what you have. So do you think the average hunter in NY is happier with a big buck? Or a small one? If there were 2 bucks in a field, one big, one small. Which do you kill? You stated that "it's great" when you kill a big one. You do realize that a season restructure and overall better deer herd would lead to more opportunities at "the big one" for everyone right? You can stand on a pedestal and say a lot of people don't care about antlers but we all know that's false about 98% of the time. Hunters are happier with the bigger deer. Your version of smart and others may vary. If the threshold for intelligence is now centered around a vaccine choice that's a pitiful thing. So... If testing is necessary for unvaxxed, yet vaxxed people still get and spread the virus as well, why no testing unless symptomatic? Does that make any sense?
