You ran alkaline. Cold weather like that requires an SLA, LI-ION and solar, or lithium internally.

That's one of the differences between a cheap cam and a quality cam. There is no light metering going on with that WGI.

Deer are curious. I've had deer lick cams quick a bit. Once one starts other deer seem to lick the same cam. Most of the molds used incorporate fish oil to release the case. Part of the reason bears are attracted to cams so much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have Turkey? Want Quality Trail Cameras?

Costco is one of the most admirable companies in the United States. A little familiarity with them will reveal that their EEs are OVERPAID compared to their competitors across the spectrum - cashiers can make 40-50k/yr. Their benefits are also over the average across the board for competitors. The CEO is very pro-EE and pro-customer culture to the point that they are aware it impacts their stock valuation and reduces profits - they publicly state "they don't care." They take items back out of customer service, realizing that it probably eats (pun intended) into their margins. And comparing Wegman's to Costco is valid. Both sell food. Costco ranked #15 on Fortune's Most Admired list for 2017. Both companies rank close to one another on the Best Companies to Work For list as well. It just goes to show basing one conversation and mixing in some questionably applicable experience can really twist the big picture from reality. Speaking as someone who works for a company that has made both lists - you literally have to pee excellence to even make the cut for discussion.

We're on sump pump/crock watch. Sump is taking on water and it's moving it out once every few minutes. Normal operation for most people, but my house either floods like a pool or is bone dry. Getting water into the crock at all has never happened (outside of fully flooding from other points of entry in the basement), so this is a first. Probably as close to flooding as I can get before actually flooding out. I have a heavy leak on one of the clamps/gaskets joining my outlet pipes right at the corner of my foundation - where the pipe leading to daylight connects. Was planning on grabbing the parts this weekend, and it may end up costing me since I am sure that water is recirculating back into the crock. Part of what makes my house flood is also what makes the water leave fast, too. Hoping as the hours go by, it improves quickly. We're getting mixed wet snow and not a lot of precipitation.

Same suggestion for the premix on the Polaris. Same problem.

I am a fan of Polaris ATVs, but no so much their PWC. Mechanically I think the PWCs are inferior across the board, reducing durability, and PWCs take a beating. I would be more apprehensive if the PWC was in saltwater, too. Like Jerkman, I prefer Yamaha PWC. With skis that old, the hours clocked will vary greatly and thus the price. Low hour machines on original guts will command a premium from the seller, and its rarely if ever warranted. I'd be concerned throwing more than $3k into the whole deal. All it takes is for one of the PWC to blow some smoke and your fun level per $ goes down quick.

Interesting proposition for the right party. Moog, me, and our friend hunt together. As fortunate of deer hunters as we are, our properties are either void of turkey or have very small numbers of birds that pass on the peripheral areas. Nothing allowing more than a hunt or two for the full Spring season. Add in a random day at Letchworth, and we're lucky if we get out more than 2x in the month. We're in search of a party interested in trading a day or weekend of access to prime turkey ground in exchange for new trail camera(s). I know there are some people on this site who hunt hard for deer but pass on turkey hunting. Arrangements can be flexible based on the situation, but we have a goal of this being a like/in-kind deal. All of us are located in Rochester. Some travel distance is possible based on the specifics. PM if interested.

OBR is credited with a lot of success in states that went to it most recently, i.e. KY and IN. It's not so much the second buck as it curtails the "shoot the first one and wait for a biggun" habit. People always go to the "only 5k shoot two bucks a year" statement but reality is the OBR changes hunter behavior and that at the end of the day still allows the choice of the hunter should he or she want a younger buck. Hunter behavior is really what people are after and some want to regulate out the ability to choose even more than it is know. OBR has been proven successful but still let's the buck being taken to be of more Hunter choice IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I have a lot of sample pics - they really are good cams for the money. I'd be keeping them if I didn't have to better reflect the brands I sell. I will send a PM.

If there is a top lot buck, don't they make a lie detector test part of the deal? Unfortunately the original purpose of the books have been lost IMO. Much more about money grab and politics. I'd love to see a buck that tops one of the major categories and fails the books for some exclusionary reason that forces the conversation. That will really determine their true relevance in today's world. I don't think anyone doubts the original intent of these orgs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just seeing this now. For three I would want to clear $120 +$5-10 for shipping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All 6 are in good working shape. One has a 1/8" crack on one latch. No leak and can be glued. Will not sell singles. Would sell lot for $35 each plus $15 for shipping. Cam price if sold in pair or trio would be more. These cams have been bulletproof. Selling because I don't sell Moultrie cams for my business and I like to have images and vids from cams I do sell. SB 4739 - Establishes the yearling buck protection program
phade replied to Rebel Darling's topic in Deer Hunting
When it comes to winterkill scenarios in under-capacity areas - when it does happen - you want the fawns to die rather than the middle class/breeders. You want the old/inactive in breeding to die. Seeing them dead is a sign for you to know that things are happening right. Seeing fawns dead and lots of middle class deer, that is when you have real winterkill problems. That's why in certain scenarios, quality deer management actually can include fawn harvest during the hunting season as part of a sound management plan. The other component is that many parts of the state do not need deer to survive better (if you take the DEC for word). They're trying to reduce populations. You think the DEC is interested in improving the ability for deer to survive winter when they have been trying to drive increased harvest numbers - to the point of ramming down a forced season? -

Overall in NY breeder age does are bred in the 90+% percentile, with the stronger regions 95-98%. While in the Adirondacks, only 4% of fawns are bred annually. Seems like a problem but more a factor of the environmental conditions relating to quality habitat to obtain the necessary weight/development to become fertile. Compare that to other regions IN New York where nearly 40% of fawns are bred each year. An extended rut might seem like the end of the world, but for the most part, when does are being bred at high success rates year in and year out, I think people make the case to solve a problem that doesn't truly exist in the confines of what the DEC manages. So maybe you condense the spring birthing a little more, but so far I don't think that is where we should focus our efforts. There are other more pressing needs at this point. Condensing the rut is more about season structure and tag allocation than hunter discipline IMO.
