I remember Fila when they were the cool shoes back in early 90s.

Did you spin the wheel yet?

Been a slow year. Whether it has or it hasn't.
-
It's 73 degrees here in Florida right now. Flying home tomorrow...should be fun. Looks like it was slower than expected given the snowfall.

Deer drives are fun when safely coordinated. From the small two or three man pushes to CB-led dog drives with 40-50 guys across thousands of acres, I've done them all. Some really fun memories with people.

Sounds good, I'll send you paypal info. Trail camera manufacturers do test to breakage for the most part. Like anything else that has moving parts, breakage will eventually occur. The majority of cameras will fail because of other issues such as moisture entry, electrical issues, etc. But as a rule, I wouldn't buy a camera if it's had really high pic count for its age - usually those are cameras set out over feeders or mineral licks and sit there just taking pic after pic and are in the elements year-round.

Cabela's lifetime is not YOUR lifetime, but the expected lifetime of the product. And for their trail cams...it's not that long. Cabela's cams can also be bought on the open market under their hired third party provider name...for much less.

You've got a lot of bucks running around there. You should let me come hunt them, lol.

I have from time to time slacked on scent control and prep in gun season compared to bow. But, it's the exception not the rule. I still very much hunt the wind and thermals. I also tend to take it less serious than bow. The challenge is still there but it is more about "getting out there" and seeing what happens. Historically I tend to shoot a lot of does in gun season as I'll pass them up in bow outside of an early season freezer filler. I can let them hang and it's not a mad rush to process against the temps.

Both cams $100 shipped and both work great. Moultrie has about 2.5 mos of use and 3k photos snapped. Primos 4 mos. and about 1,200 photos snapped. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not a fan of WGI cams.

50 percent in any camera is going to cause problems.

bad or dying batteries - lack of night images or videos. Firing up the IRs requires higher power draws and your batteries are dropping below voltage cutoff.

In middle management for a Fortune 1000 company, lead three business units within my division. Ranges between 105-180 people depending on the time of year and they are spread across Rochester, Tampa/St. Pete, and Phoenix. Have some fun, work ridiculous hours, travel a bit, and I've done better than I thought I ever would. I'm in the discussions for senior leadership roles and so at this point, everything is gravy and I am appreciative. It could all end tomorrow. Part of me wants to see how far I can go here, and the other part of me wants to find a smaller scale employer where I can steer growth without the handcuffs larger companies can sometimes lock on. Plus, I've only ever met five people here that hunt...and having to explain why I am taking two weeks off for hunting just gets sooooooo repetitive, lol.

Isn't that a forum faux-paus without supporting evidence? TPIWWP. My step daughter has her two year architectural degree...sells homes now. At least semi-relatable.

I hear ya. Lots or red tape everywhere, even in private sectors.

Private company/jail? Or leeching off the public taxes I/we pay on this site? LOL.

Ha. You work at Garlock. Let's just say there is a girl there who thinks my name is a four-letter word. Good times.

Usually a fatality sign. Multiple cards, fresh batteries, formatted...if no hard reset option available, then the cam is toast. You got your money's worth out of it and then some. For non-cell cams, I expect 1 year of operation for every $50 spent, when in the elements 100% of the time.

Quick tip for people is to snip some small tree limbs and branches when leaves are still green. The fibers are still strong and not weak as when leaves turn brown. You can jam the limbs into the crotches of later stands and tie to limbs the stand it in. Leaves will stay on all season, sometimes multiple seasons. Old Xmas trees work, too, but I think they stand out a ton for other people who might be in the area post leaf drop. Draws attention. Unlike most here, I think that stand is fine - from the ground perspective, you are just high enough to clear vegetation. That stand requires pretty high levels of concentration, however. Regardless of height, a lot of movement will give you up. All you need however, is the element of surprise. I've seen more deer out of an 8' stand this season than I have every other stand I have sat combined. Pic from that stand yesterday.
