  1. The same buck noticed the camera in daytime based on earlier pics and seems to tolerate it. Deer dispositions are different, you probably know that. Some will tolerate it, some will be curious, and some will not tolerate it.
  2. Set up another one tonight for a forum member.
  3. Brush guns to me were always shorter, lighter guns that were quick to the shoulder and being able to swing in close/thick quarters with the ability for quick follow-up shots.
  4. Usually this is a sound train of thought for consumers. With bows for me, I'll take the right bow in a one-year wonder company any day of the week. Sure, ongoing service or parts could be challenging if the company folds down the road, but "most" people transition bows every handful of years. I have had my Z28 for five seasons now and it's not something I want to get rid of and that's a first for me. Elite had just been bought, again, but the bow was worth any risk in that sense. The right bow to me is more important than the company's balance sheet in all honesty. Enough parts make it to the market to scrounge up the rare cam ding or something.
  5. Commissionable labor hours...usually mechanics and collision repair shops today use computer software with allocated repair and replace times for certain tasks. These hours are simply preset hours and can be overridden. It is not typically a binding requirement they charge X hours for a job in most states. Differences in software even exist. Ultramate vs. CCC Pathways had different time allotments for tasks about 50% of the time when I estimated. What is likely the case is that he knows that rusted brake lines, replacing one, likely means having to replace all or replacing one and then another breaks shortly thereafter requiring a revisit and could be a job that turns into a nightmare for him and the client. Even despite the client saying he'll pay, sometimes a job isn't worth it to that person because of the headaches. Don't forget too, this is a new to him vehicle and new to him client. I agree on bypassing the ABS, especially down south, on a truck with limited use.
  6. These are red IR. Black flash ones are available, but the price is much higher due to lower production #s.
  7. Just set up a couple for people/members here.
  8. Good idea, you might end up buying another bow that way...
  9. Pretty sure we looked at the them at the bow show in Cleveland a few years back when they were brand new. Never shot it though.
  10. Looks like somebody brought their knife to the gun fight.
  11. I may have missed it, but what did you prove? That DMAPs and DMPs are available for use and hunters used it? How is that a result of QDM? I see zero correlation to QDM when hunters are simply filling DMPS and DMAPs. The property could not have been in QDM and the same thing could have happened with a brown its down mentality.
  12. Shocked he is a mod there? What would your reaction be if he were a long-standing board member/officer of the New York State Trappers Association? That'd be a real shocker. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no doubt, and that I will support his ability to do so 100%. But, you just have to wonder about some people in certain roles when they respond the way they do...
  13. Fusion has always been middle of the road for me with my guns. Not great, not horrible. To be honest, their sabot slugs are cheaper and I buy them to get on paper before moving to the more expensive Remingtons. The don't group well enough and I get jams on them in my H&R Ultra Slug. Their rifle rounds seem well built with the typical Federal quality.
  14. I feel like ive seen this forum name before somewhere.
  15. wow....like the looks of that older buck.
  16. Deer-car collisions are a pretty stable trend to monitor population (not necessarily numbers but comparative trending). A lowered number indicates a reducing herd size, because most likely, the number of drivers, driver hours, etc. haven't gone down much (gas prices have been either steady or lowering). This makes it even more important for the DEC to have a sound system, but its not being broadcast as part of their plans lately. No numbers in that sense.
  17. If he sits it between Oct 1 and the end of the second week in the antlerless area, he's going to do more mature buck damage then going in on the 26th for a few minute to shoot a few arrows.

    2015 RUT

Not to play one up, but I've been in situations where two hunters hunting the same properties see different "rut experiences." One where its wide open, and one where its dead quiet. Nov 2, 2013, me and Moog were hunting the same 20 acre wooded area, which backs up to a big non-hunting parcel. As the crow flies, we were 3-400 yds away from each other. He hunted area 2 and I area 1 and then flipped the a.m. pm. hunts, so he was in 1 and I in 2. Reason being, I had burned my bow tag, and he had one. My area was flush with bucks that morning...two clear shooters and multiple clear shot opps. Left me shaking my head. I filmed both with my white cell phone to my dismay with both looking at me with little care due to the does in the area. Moog shaking his head the whole time at the pics and texts I was sending. It finally quiets down and we eat lunch and switch spots. My afternoon progressed into seeing two more different shooters and one repeat from the a.m. in the spot where Moog hunted the morning and saw nothing. The area where I saw a ton of action in the a.m., where Moog was now hunting in the afternoon....nada. All this within a tiny area in one day. Moog ended up killing one of the bucks I saw that a.m. a day or two later.
