  1. I agree that it would be nice to hear why, but that's just pie in the sky talk. There's no need to discuss logic if they choose not to, however. I also doubt anyone would want to nail themselves down to something that would otherwise be an issue down the road the next time judgment is used.
  2. Be careful not to shoot a buck in the doe only zone on Oct. 15....
  3. Guarded by white engineers. Also, an observation.
  4. Can't people just click on it if they want to? I wasn't aware a criteria was necessary or required. Maybe one wasn't used. Nor is that reasoning or explanation necessary. At the end of the day, we can complain (I know I have), but it is a privately owned entity or operation.
  5. Very cool, and proud moment! Congrats to you! Hopefully you got a donation to keep up with costs!
  6. And oddly enough nobody here would say anything about taking a long shot on a coyote.
  7. I think Livonia is on the border of the WMU so its plausible it could be legal.
  8. Jumping the string isn't going to be an issue at 100 yards. String jump happens pretty much within a very confined yardage range. At that distance, movement in general is more of the consideration.
  9. 16yds? That's way too long for an arrow. JK. Congrats!
  10. Says the guy who ranks in the top ten or so for posters on a hunting forum. Look, at the end of the day, a deer is just that, a deer. Doing little or no prep or doing a lot of prep doesn't change that, its a non-factor. What people get out of hunting is different, but that doesn't mean a deer is more than just a deer. Its the same reason NYantler hunts traditional and shoots close shots and runs a webpage, or Grow does all of her property management, or Potter pouring over topos and setting up over a bed and won't shoot anything under 4.5, or you lacing up boots and toting the shotgun out the door opening morning. Sorry, but it is just a deer.
  11. Ha, if one gets jealous over a deer, one needs to look at real priorities in life. Its just a deer. The big buck we targeted in 2013 was shot by someone who got lucky through a whole bunch of events. He was in the right place an right time though. The guy was an asshat and even left a pic of the buck on moogs truck. You know what we did? Congratulate him. Being jealous over a buck doesnt exactly seem like a good use of my time nor focus.
  12. You are right I don't get your point. If its possible and likely, you are in the wrong group. Or you don't belong in a group. Period.
  13. Pretty sure he's not talking about the camera, but deer movements vs. weather conditions, instead. That pic shows how bucks get as big and old as they do...by showing up at night!
  14. TV providers and station companies are constantly at odds about programming rights/access/fees. Strictly a business move. TV providers are really being hit hard by the advent of internet-based TV viewing. It's only going to get much worse, and it's worse than they expected right now.
  15. It's Oct. 1 and deer season is open. As is a plethora of other seasons. Let's hunt.
  16. No offense but I wouldnt want to share a camp with you. And I am sure vice versa. Even trying to come up with reasoning for it to happen just tells me that is not the kind of hunter I want to be around.
  17. So a 20 in thick brush vs. open long shot? All else is never equal.
  18. i dont think they aim to simply immobilize. They want death.
