  1. Bought these to load for my grendel, turns out they are too long of a bullet. Cant return them since i opened the package. These would work great for a 6.5 creedmoor or 260rem. I paid $35+tax at cabelas, id sell locally for $30. Wny area.
  2. It was almost like clock work in my woods, from bow to early gun. Around 9am they always came through.
  3. Back in, no sightings for either of us. Brought in 2 cams, the one in my foodplot had a ton of pics. That pic of the doe is the most impressive, what a tank!
  4. Beautiful morning, no wind. Seems like a great day to shoot a doe. Or better yet my brother in law can get a buck.
  5. Had pizza and fingers from pizzabella in Akron.
  6. Thank you. Wife paid for my S&W 586 i recently recieved from a estate. My kids (my wife)got me a nice set of Leupold binoculars. Very happy, its been a good year hopefully MANY more.
  7. As far as cycling. I would pull the charging handle back then let it go and it would pickup the next round. At about shot 15 ut didnt pickup the next round. I had to ride the charging handle forward. No big deal, may add some more lube to see if it helps next time.
  8. Ran into a small hiccup today. Put a box of hornady black through it. Shot ok, just under 2" at 200. But i came in to clean it and i noticed my handguard is resting on the gas block. No more free floated barrel at that point. I ground down some of the gas block but it still touches. Just ordered and smaller gas block to put on that will hopefully clear the handguard.
  9. I shoot to 400 yards in my backyard. Theres a range 20 minutes away that goes to 700, and i have a buddy that has access to a field that he has shot to 1000 yards. The scope will be around 18 or 20 power range scope.
  10. Hoping it functions as i expect it too. This is actually fairly popular in the uk were they cant have ARs.
  11. Rifles put together. Ill take it out tomorrow to test fire hopefully. May hunt with it this weekend. So it looks like a scary rifle, but reality is its like a bolt action.
  12. Ive slowly cleared a area deeper in my woods for a plot. Ive planted some fruit trees in there this year. Ill plant some kinda plot in there this spring. Probably the same clover/chicory i have up front in my property. Clear some areas that are choked up in young beech trees. Thats about it.
  13. Writing this up as i think it may intrest some on the sight. Im thinking i want to try some long distance shooting competitions local to ny. There is a program for ny prs shoots. In the rules they do not allow ar 15 rifles to compete do to the safact and issues that would arise from out of state shooters coming here with thier legal guns. Once they crossed into ny they are no longer legal. I love the ar platform, i carried it in Iraq and am incredibly familiar with it. I also love guns with wood stocks so dont hate on me lol. I decided im going to build a straight pull rifle. Looks like a AR but no gas system. The start of my build is a Gibbz arms left side charge upper. I added thier "competition" longer side lever. This upper uses a custom cam pin in the bcg that the side charge lever rides on to run the bcg. Next the most important part, the barrel. I gave myself a $500 limit here. If i could squeeze more out i would have went with a Bartlein barrel. But i settled on a 22" JP super match barrel with matched bolt. Im currently waiting on my rail, alot of your rails that fit a mil spec upper will not fit the gibbz, the anti rotationtabs hit the upper.. So i have a seekins rail coming. To have no gas run on this gun i put a YHM clamp on gas block on backward. This covers the gas port. If this allows gas to squeeze out still ill figure something out. Maybe tap the gas block were the gas tube goes and screw in a screw. Ill add pics as i go, the goal of this build is to hit at 1000+ yards on moa targets.
  14. Great job TF. I need my bil to have ur determination. He has just about given up on the season. U never know when the right one will walk out. Congratulations!
  15. Leupold also has a lifetime warranty. Vortex is not the first to do this, but everyone always says it like they are the only ones.
  16. Only shooting to 250 you definitely dont need a drop reticle. Love all my leupolds. My current favorite is my vx-r 4-12. They make it in a 3-9 also. Worth a look if you think you may ever need a illuminated reticle. What caliber is the rifle in?
  17. Ive tried for years, wife wont leave. Doesnt want to to kids away from the grandparents...they can travel to us!
  18. Ive done it with Dr.pepper, then the usual salt, pepper, onion, garlic. Throw on some bbq sauce when u can tear it apart with a fork. Comes out great.
