  1. Or pay some creep with beetles to do it @The_Real_TCIII
  2. I boil with some dish soap then just soak for a few hours in oxiclean. All these methods work, the key is to stay away from strong chemicals and bleach because it weakens the bone.
  3. I hear ya, I'm far from an expert sharpener. I do enough to get by and whenever my father's in town he asks why I don't sharpen my knives and then he makes them into razors. Next time he visits I'm gonna task him with sharpening some broadhead blades. As for butchering deer, obviously avoid bone, but Iv also found that it helps to cut as little hair as possible. I use a "hook" to make big cuts in the skin. The less hair you cut, the less your blade is dulled... and the less hair on the meat! Buck Paklite gut hook:
  4. All sharpened up and ready to go! I’v got one deer hanging and will cut it up this weekend. Hoping for at least one more.
  5. We’ll deal with that if it happens... I think for now we can all agree that we want to see the Chiefs beat up on the Pats next week and make Brady cry again.
  6. Sausage was good. Hot Italian - 4:1 venison to pork. Parsley, garlic, fennel, salt, crushed red and red wine. We had way less casing than we thought, so about 30lbs became patties and bulk.
  7. Venison sausage... cased, vacuum-packed, and ready to sleep in the freezer until grilling time.
  8. Thanks for the great deal on the mower Biz. $20 and you delivered for free. I don’t care what they said about you on the internet... you’re good people. I cant believe you didn’t stop and see @moog5050 while you were out here... must’ve been the coolant leak comment.
  9. Went to scout some state land near one of the smaller lakes in the area to see if I could “track” a buck once we get some snow on the ground. Iv never set foot in the area, only fished the lake. I brought my bow just in case. On the walk back toward the car I could hear a deer walking “below” me on the lake side. I stood behind a tree and this little guy passed me. Shot him quartering away. I was trying to “aim for the opposite leg” and hit a little further back than I wanted. Took out off-side lung and Rage did tons of damage. He ran down the hill but dropped in sight. I carried him out and decided if I ever get a buck in that area I’d drag him down to the water and get the boat. Incredibly steep and overgrown. Weighed just under 100lbs. Should be delicious.
  10. I’v killed a 2 point... but never a spike. Actually had one I wanted back in 2017. The only sad year that I got skunked for deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I'v never shot a spike... maybe this weekend I can check that off the list!
  12. Last week I let a fat doe walk because she had a 2.5 year old 8 point trailing her. Then I decided to let him walk because I could see a big 10 way off locked down with a doe. The 10 ended up heading in the other direction... but I was happy with both decisions. WHAT IS THIS FORUM TURNING ME INTO???
  13. If you need motivation to put at least one more deer down this long weekend... here’s mine. And yea, that’s a bacon-wrapped backstrap thrown into the smoker. (My buddy earned one of the kielbasa’s for letting me test drive his Traeger.)
  14. The company should have a straight forward policy on what is acceptable and what isn't. As I was trained, for touching like this to be harassment it would need to be 1) intentional and 2) unwanted. It sounds like this was intentional but not unwanted. As for being brought forward by witnesses and prompting an investigation, previous comments are correct.
  15. I work for a huge employer... And according to our policy, if the interaction is as described, it would not be considered sexual harassment.
  16. Smoked half tonight, will do the rest tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. 18 lbs of venison kielbasa. Letting it sit overnight then smoking over cherry tomorrow.
  18. If you live near Rochester... go to Good Luck. 8 of us had: 2 bib lettuce 3 red lentil 2 beef gnocchi 2 fried chicken 3 burgers Best meal of the year
  19. Good Luck for celebratory dinner tonight. It’s gonna be great... hunting tomorrow is becoming iffy with every drink.
  20. Changing it up! On the ground with a crossbow between bedding area and a freshly cut corn field. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
