LIVE From The Woods 2021 Stories And Pictures Let's Have Em!

I’m running down after work to take advantage of the 80 degree weather to put up a new stand. There’s a trail that used to get descent deer traffic, but it’s definitely increased this year. Iv got 2 trees in mind that could work, but one is huge… might need to double up the straps to put a ladder up it. -

I had a fawn bedded down under my stand for 2 hours today. His mom finally joined up with him and she wasn’t much bigger than him. She got a pass too. -

Well at least we know I’m a law-abiding hunter… hope she shows up again tomorrow. -
Has there been a change in the crop fields they are going to? If their preferred food is in a closer field, they may need less time to get there and begin staging later in your food plot.

Yea its light and simple but holds enough gear. I lost it for a season in my garage and I was pissed.

The baby has a slight fever so I volunteered to stay home with him. That gives me two nap times worth of extra prep time today. Change of plans for opening day PM hunt, I’ll be taking the new climber to a small thicket that’s had does traveling through every night for the last 2 weeks. I’ll take it for a test run in the yard today so have a slight idea what I’m doing.

Everything’s looking good heading into the season. Does and small bucks on cam 24/7. Good amount of bigger bucks at night. No “monsters” yet, but they’ll show up eventually. End of Oct/early Nov should be exciting. edit… looking at the video, that 10 near the water source is a huge deer. Maybe a “monster” is around already.

“Boil 2 cups of water with Tender Quick (1 tablespoon per lb of venison), pickling spice, brown sugar, garlic and juniper berries (optional). Once dissolved, pour over the roast (I use a large ziplock bag) and add enough cold water to fully cover the meat. Let it sit in the fridge for at least a week; then rinse and simmer for a few hours until it is done to your liking.” This was a leg roast but I also use front shoulder.
