  1. Bought myself staying in stand until 20 min before sunset so that will have to do. I would kill for a coffee right now. Getting sleepy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I don’t know *tears*. Wife may not be able to get out of work meaning I am on taxi duty. Which means I would have to leave at 4 which is the very time this is likely to start paying dividends! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I know better than to be out now but this is my last bow day of the season and the weather is glorious. 50 light breeze. Corn field they enjoy 30 yards off. Behind me: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I always carry my bow in hand. Even if it's attached to my pack when in the climber I have the rest and sight pointed out so that nothing touches them. I simply wouldn't trust something not to get knocked or jostled out of position.
  5. I love the look of those, but do you have trouble adjusting it quickly enough when deer are moving?
  6. This weather is amazing. I may not be able to get out this afternoon. Ugh this is killing me, it's a spectacular day. I had frost on the car and no rain! I bet deer are around like mad today.
  7. I am confident I didn't hit heart because I did a cursory inspection of it. I didn't hit liver because it wasn't cut. I assumed I had not hit lung due to no blood in the mouth. It's possible I did hit one, though. I recall shooting this at around 25 yards from my tree and I was probably 15' up. However, that angle does look pretty darn steep. The thing was slightly down hill and I realize I should have aimed a bit higher for good measure. Height of entry aside, would all of you aim exactly where I aimed regarding forward/back?
  8. I got one that runs on propane tanks as well as gas. Propane is nice because carb won't ever gum up and propane has an infinite shelf life so I keep a couple of spare tanks at all time and need not worry about cycling gas.
  9. I can believe it. I've seen people not secure furniture, trampoline, etc.
  10. It was from a stand. Can it have been a single lung shot on account of the downward angle so I missed the right lung?
  11. I mentioned this in my original post about this deer but it's bothering me, because this is not the first deer I've hit exactly where I was aiming and been shocked to see it not immediately keel over. I hit this earlier in the month with a Rage broadhead. Entry on the left obviously, and exit on the right. This deer ran approximately 150 yards before expiring and had a consistently light blood trail the whole way. Not a spec of blood in the mouth, which tells me both lungs were fine. Also I do recall checking the heart and I had not hit it. How could this shot have been better? 3" higher? Did I go just under the lungs? Or was it exhaling and the chest cavity down low is temporarily empty?
  12. I believe a lot of people who are positive they saw Bigfoot are not lying; they believe truly they saw big foot. However, peruse some studies about how hilariously inaccurate eye witness testimony is. Three people can see the same event and just moments later all recall it differently—including accounts directly incompatible with one another. That’s all these sightings are—tricks of the mind. To this day not one piece of actual evidence. Not one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I assume its assessment is sub $100k?
  14. I've finally worked my wife up to this. Ideally something with trails I could keep cut, but she is starting to appreciate I'm serious about this. Want to try and find 20-25 acres east of the city where I am.
  15. Likely a chupacabra. There have been a lot of them around this season. \\
  16. Don't the shotgun scopes have a lot of eye relief? Could try that approach if you still want zoom.
  17. Congrats on the deer just posted! I was inside due to weather and tiling a backsplash Guy at the property I hunt txted me 15 min ago saying he was working right near where I have my stand and three doe walked by. Typical
  18. I sure do. Your land is just what I'm thinking about, perhaps 2/3rd the size.
  19. I put on my [field] dress shoes No, all I do is put the plastic on. Always seems to rip anyway but it does help.
  20. They are long plastic gloves to minimize blood all over me I pack them with my field dress shoes. If things to well my next season will be the most expensive ever because I'll have picked up some property.
  21. The author's name starts with Coy. Not sure I could get my family to try it.
  22. Too few people up there to bother running the lines and towers I guess.
  23. Several times. Screw this weather. If there is a break tomorrow I'll go out but of course i see no evidence of that happening at all. I'd possibly suffer it with a covered stand, but having the rain drizzle down on my hat and staring at my wet hands is tantamount to torture. There will be many more sunny days ahead of us, it's only october
  24. I just realized today, as I walked into field and stream, that it was the first time I'd been there in months! In fact, other than $6 for a new set of field dress gloves and $22 for two new pairs of gloves from Walmart (because i couldn't find my others--which of course showed up recently, so now I have duplicated pairs), I have not spent any more money. Nothing on arrows, do not plan on spending anything on bullets, etc.
