  1. No rain here right now. I will get out until it starts up again...
  2. Solid guess @squirrelwhisperer. I saw one fat squirrel this a.m.,no deer. I may try to go out before the storms get here, supposedly late afternoon accompanied by a severe temp drop.
  3. smart man. weather is fine here for now,but the skeeters are bad. 0 deer seen so far
  4. up.amd getting ready. It looks like a break in the rain until 9 or so here in 4F. Gotta try and make it happen when I can. I have a good spot for a south wind. That's what I think now anyways, haha.
  5. No bugs? I got a few skeeter bites at work today, wth? mid October
  6. Did I say I walk everywhere? I might go places on my high horse, but that's it. I pay attention to details, do you? I think cars in general are a stupid invention, electric or gas powered. We have to move 1 to 2 tons of mass to move 1 human most of the time? Now that is not a smart move no matter how it is powered. Most people will spend more money on vehicles in their lifetime than on their house. That is ludicrous to me,there have to be better ways. Bicycling is pretty good actually, and public transport would be too if more emphasis would be put on it. I do realize it is much harder to do in rural areas as I live in one. But keeping the status quo doing is crazy. Keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome?
  7. Hey,at least one buck started making scrapes...
  8. My first shot was the broadhead with the lighted nock. Definetely an above average group for me at 40 yds. I am ready to shoot a deer.
  9. Seeing one at night and figuring out where he spends his days are two very different things. But it sure is motivation!
  10. I went out with my wife and some of her co-workers last night for drinks and on the way home we saw an absolute slammer just down the road from my house on a property I can hunt. A really big deer for around here. I turned around to see if I could get a better look but they were not by the road anymore. I know where I will focus my efforts. Not much for bedding on the property, but there is a point with young beech trees that bucks like to bed on. I will investigate this weekend.
  11. Wow that buck has a wide rack. Where exactly did you say your camp was?
  12. Enigma is right, the weather might be just the thing for it. I have seen the first hot doe in this area( to my knowledge anyway) around the 22nd of October. It has been and still is hot,so the deer may feel much more frisky next week. Also, are you still thinking about moving in this area? Good excuse to check a few things out...
  13. Hey Chef,Milford is the next town over from me. Lots of ag around there in the valleys, lots of woods on the hills. It is a pretty area but I agree that it probably is the worst time of year as far as big bucks go. I would join a gtg but sleep at my house, haha. I have not heard of the outfit but that should not be a surprise as I don't look for outfitters at home. I also think you would have to be lucky to kill a buck better than some of the ones you have by your house. Bow season pressure is fairly low up here, even on stateland.
  14. Might have a margherita myself tonight!! It goes well with fish tacos.
  15. haha,I thought there would be a double standard.
  16. would you call that a donation or a handout?
  17. Time to finish your underground bunkers gentlemen. The end is near.
  18. I saw deer in the fields just now on my way back from town. They don't care too much about the temps, they deal with it. I hope to be able to make it out tonight, but if I won't I definetely will be out tomorrow
