Cameras have been out for 8 weeks... stands/blinds all set for the past 4 weeks... going to go and pull the cameras this weekend and hunt Thursday... I'm ready... Bow is shooting great.... Just need the deer to read the script..

No thanks.... I will do a 2 or three man "still hunt/push" but that's only late season.. and they aren't running... we still hunt an area and see if we can either sneak up on deer or gently move them out of cover into range of the other person..

I decided a different route... I booked a Newfie hunt... no waiting... just had to pay for it... Got a great bull.... I know guys that have done the Maine lottery for 20 years and never been drawn.. screw that crap..... To me, it was worth booking the hunt and getting to go instead of just dreaming of "maybe one day"... With them lowering the permit #'s, your chances are getting worse by the year not better...

To be honest though.... The deer herd needs to be closer to 6 does per 1 buck than it is I think.... A buck can only breed 5 to 6 does in a year before the fawns are born to late to survive... THAT should be the goal and adjusted as needed.....

Spend the money on the Primos sticks... I use the mono pod... easier to walk with I think..

All for the 1 and done.... Better than AR's I think.... Everything changes.... would rather see 1 and done than AR's so that's my vote.

What do I need to legally hunt geese besides a license, HIP # and a federal stamp??? Non lead shot I know...

I hated giving my wife my 25-06 barrel for her T/C.... but couldn't justify having two of them,.... so I bought a 30-06 barrel for my T/C.... Still think I might buy a 25-06 and never track another deer... LOL

Going to try chickens this weekend... Brine them and then put a rub on...

25-06 with a 115 - 120 grain bullet..... it's like you hit them with lightening.... most any deer has gone after shooting them was 20 yards... 150 lb 9 pt... everything else dropped immediately...

Got you... And this kid is a hunter for sure.... Shoots geese like you can't believe.... Took him out turkey hunting and he loves it..

Doesn't really seem like they are trying to get youth involved ... by 14 they already have other interests.... but I guess 12 year olds can bow hunt so I'll take the youth out then during regular bow season... Just seems like it is set to fail...

On the youth deer hunt... for hunters 12-13 they can bow hunt only... Can they use a cross bow to hunt??? I've read the rules over and over, I see no mention of equipment needed...
