  1. Should be illegal to use... The spray and pray method of deer hunting is dangerous... I was almost hit by two pellets of that crap... I won't hunt with people using it..
  2. Yeah.... I let them use the pic and I bought the book myself... I don't ask for anything... If they offered a free book I would have taken it though.. BUT...
  3. Thanks... it is... just not as "shiny" as I had it in my head.. LOL
  4. I get asked if a writer can use my moose hunt pic for a book he is writing, so I say "Hell yeah, that's cool!!!".... Send the pic, wait for the book to come out, find it on Amazon.. order it... it arrives yesterday... And then find the pic in the book and my wife says "They put your name in wrong, they called you "Steve".... " (My name is Scott)
  5. Personally I think it is the best whitetail caliber, especially for this area... Of all the deer I've shot with it only 2 have moved from where they stood... 1 went 20 yards, the other a big 9 point went 25 yards.. I use Federal Fusion 120 grain...
  6. Wow!! Congrats!!! He's a great buck!!!
  7. saw a small 6 point and 3 does in the afternoon yesterday...
  8. For me.. if I can break a skeet at a specific range I will shoot an animal at that range plus a bit... Figure a skeet is 4" across...
  9. That's why I got the 338 WM... ammo is a lot easier to find and recoil out of my Pro Hunter is not terrible..
  10. I've got the 338 WM, but It was a close call between the two...
  11. Thinking of trying these very slugs.. TMZ... Would love to bring it to Africa the next time I go... Going to work up a load with BH209 as well... What primers are you guys using with the heavier charges of the 209???
  12. I love T/C... All I hunt with.... I have the Pro Hunter...
  13. Federal Fusion 120 gr... LOVE that gun and round... Deer don't take a step... (If hit right I have to add) Wife used it in Africa with great results too..
  14. To be honest, including airfare this trip is about 15 grand. I bought a donated hunt that saved me huge money then just worked the other animals out with the owner. I paid a lot less than 15 grand.
  15. Yeah.. .the taxidermist bill will be next September though.. got a little time to recoup from paying for the animals.. LOL
  16. Except she shoots animals I want.. LOL... No reason to shoot two of them.. LOL.. But thanks.. that was the last hoorah for a while..
  17. Sorry it took so long to post pics... Black Wildebeest, took him at 290 yards with a 10-20 mph wind, T/C Pro hunter in 338 WM, federal Fusion 225 gr. If scored in SCI he would be the #104 in the world... I was happy... My buddies wife (who was bow hunting) asked me to shoot one of these for her.. It was cool but they get the leather and feathers.. (Biggest turkey I'll ever kill LOL) Shot him at 125 yards with the 338 WM. My wife took this ancient Red Hartebeest at 210 yards with her T/C Pro Hunter in 25-06 with Federal Fusion 120 gr. And 3 hours later she shot this 22" impala at 80 yards and dropped him where he stood. I took this 52" Kudu bull at 75 yards, he was the biggest they've taken so far this year.. I was pumped to say the least.. Then I took this GIANT blue wildebeest at 40 yards, he's 31.5" wide and we scored him and found out he would be #64 in the world SCI if I entered him.. My PH was jumping up and down and taking all sorts of pics to prove it.. LOL Some people know when I take an animal I will always put my Dad’s old watch on it.. To me it symbolizes him getting to put his hands on it.. I don’t usually take a pic of it.. It’s just something I do for me.. But Sally was there and took this pic.. This is where I actually shot him.. Walla (My PH) wanted to move him to a better place for pics so he went back and got 3 skinners to help load him into the truck… It took all of us to get him in..
  18. We were there two years ago... shot 6 animals and couldn't wait to go back... This will be our last big trip for a while... looking to start saving for land in Wv to retire to later on... so we will make the most of this trip for sure!!!! Thanks everyone..
