Buddy is looking at a lease in 4G, lease to buy... 75 acres.. etc... But wondering if anyone on here hunts that zone and your thoughts???

Thinking he is shooting over the top of him... The deer looks close too.... Thinking because he is hunting wide open lanes like that, he has his 100 zero at 3" high... Deer looks to be less than 75 yards... Shooting from an elevated stand he is going over the top... At least he didn't wound him...

I shoot a 250 grain shockwave, bonded blue tip, most every time I shoot they either drop or bleed REALLY well.... The last one I shot I specifically put the round behind her shoulder to save meat, I could see 200 yards in the woods so I knew she wouldn't go out of sight. If I want to put them down quick, I'll put it in the "golden triangle" and drop them.. you just lose meat doing that... Here's the blood trail... I didn't need to follow it, saw her go down.

BH209, 110 grains and a 250 grain slug... Great combo out of my T/C Pro Hunter. BH209 because it burns a lot cleaner, no cleaning between shots and no burn ring.... also a lot more consistent burning

Based on this, maybe you should be suspended like Phil was fior answering honestly... Ah... but unlike A & E, HuntingNy.com believes in free speech and being able to answer honestly... Lucky for you huh???

I watch it... Better than the other so called "reality TV", as for Phil, if anyone thought he didn't think that way, hit yourself in the head with a hammer... A & E screwed up... This show makes them a ton of money... and this will hurt them in the long run... The D D boys couldn't give a rats azz, they've made a ton of money and NEVER changed their values for it..

I would still hunt.. I think it should only be 1 buck per year.... Shoot what you want though... If AR's were to go in, I don't think the people would be happy... Baby steps... 1 buck per year is a good start though...

Yeah, NY zone 4Z, I do most of my hunting there.... I do have a small place I hunt in 4Y but I usually only go there if I get a doe permit.. Longer drive...

12 5+4+3 I only shoot mature deer, 2.5 and up, I'm thrilled when someone else shoots a deer and I love hunting from the ground, eye level... (I do tree stand hunt on occasion if the area requires it)

So 70 something days into the season I took my first deer of the year... Wow.. tough year.. saw nothing but young deer all year during legal hunting hours... Finally, this past Sunday, Deer #11 of the day came up and was a good one... 130 lb doe, shot at 45 yards, T/C Pro Hunter, 110 grains of Blackhorn 209, 250 grain bonded T/C shockwave... Spent the year trying to get my wife, son and friend deer... Got everyone deer, now it was my turn!!!!

When the buck doe ratio gets out of whack, like it is in the NE, does will go through 2 or 3 estrous cycles before a buck can breed her. When that happens, she has her fawn very and you get spotted fawns in winter.. they won't survive any normal winter for sure.. Sad, but mother natures way of doing what the DNR won't...

Same here.. worst year to date..... Have not seen a mature deer during legal hunting hours this year... I've normally filled at least 2 tags if not more by now.. I have yet to fill 1... Tons of pics before the season, before the acorns started dropping.. then nothing... all at night...

I know for a fact, when T/C was a big sponsor for them it was a $250,000.00 a year contract... it may still be... And they rarely gun hunt.. so Mathew must be kicking huge money at them....

Hunting 4Z, have not seen a mature deer yet... Everything is young and tiny.. not shooting them...

Yup... if people gun hunted like they were bow hunting, deer season would be better for everyone.. they think because they have a gun they don't need to be careful... -
