Same here... Heavy rain + bow hunting = bad idea in my mind.. they can go 150 yards on a great hit... heavy rain could wash away the blood trail... Not worth it...

I won't make it ouyt for first light.. but will be out there for the afternoon hunt... Can't wait.. I am now REALLY useless at work instead of my usual "half useless".... LOL

Think of it like the water cooler at work... Basically a sign post to see who is around this time of year...

The 5 hour shots don't give you the jitters at all.

Got 1... set at 28 yards... can shoot out to 40 with it no problem....

Walmart Trail Mix... in a zip lok bag... Water.... and I toss in a few 5 hour energy drinks if it is an all day sit..

Got these for my son and Finace to use this year.... Fly great... Will hopefully post pics this weekend...

I only shoot my T/C Pro Hunter.... I have a 30-06 barrel, 25-06 barrel and 50 cal ML barrel... They shoot great... Love hunting with it...

Nice write up... Thinknig of asking the farmer that lets me hunt his property to plant food plots in areas he doesn't put crops.... Columbia county NY.. any thought to what I should have him plant?? Thinking it might keep the deer focused on that and leave his crops alone.. any thought to that idea???

This farmer has a soy bean field that is just HAMMERED... the deer have mowed the beans down to 1' high.. The other fields are 3' high.. you can see the tops are all clipped... Even the sun flowers are eaten in some fields... stopped them from flowering at all...

Here is my sons doe he took with a crop damage permit in NY this past Saturday.. 135 yard shot.. she went 40 yards.. T/C Pro Hunter in 30-06 (my rifle), this is only his second deer... great shot.. AND, I got it on video...

To quote Caddyshack.... "Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, we're waiting".... LOL

4Y has them for residents only... Not none residents... But my Fiance and I both hunt the farm, don't hunt anywhere else and use the tags on his farm only... Wish I could use them during bow season as well but oh well... I'll shoot them with the rifle and they will be just as tasty.. LOL

Behind the Dutch Treat restaraunt on RT 23... Guy makes the BEST venison breakfast sausage EVER... and he will also make cube steak.... unreal....

I hunt in 4Y & 4Z, no doe permits, they probably are DMAP tags I am getting from the farmer...

Land owner can get them to help manage the deerr on his farm... So yes, I can get 2 but only from him to be used on his farm...

Very true.. my cameras are showing a greater than 10 to 1 doe to buck ratio on this farm.. All the bucks so far are 1 1/2 or less... Telling me the other people hunting are shooting their "buck" and leaving... stupid... He lets us hunt to control the deer #'s, if they want meat, shoot a doe or 3 and let the young bucks grow.. I think this year will be a record doe kill for me if I can help it.. I'm hoping to get 2 more crop damamger permits after this weekend, then the two DMP tags he will give me during the season.. plus the archery tags.... Now if that big 10 shows up again.. I'll gladly tag him with my buck tag... ;-)
