Stupid is as stupid does. Obama was the most unqualified candidate in all of presidential history and has proven to be the worst president in history as well. Hillary is the first candidate to run while being investigated by the FBI for criminal activity. Trump has more qualifications then Hillary simply because he wants to fix America, which is what people want. Hillary wants to eliminate it, along with all nations and borders, and create one world government with her at the head seat of power. If Trump is Hitler, Hillary is Satan! The part I was asking if you read was the one about hunting yotes when deer are dropping fawns and yotes are having pups. Too many states don't allow hunting during this time simply because of the politically incorrect view of the practice. That does not include the time that does start dropping fawns. Yotes have litters at the same time deer drop fawns and they need to feed their young. One litter of 4 pups can consume as many as 40 fawns before they leave their mother. There was a time when their population was so low, nobody even knew they existed in the area. How important is their role in the wild when it didn't matter if they were there decades ago? They do serve as an effective deer population control element, if you don't care about a huntable deer population. Hunters who deny their effect on deer populations may soon find hunting isn't needed to control deer in the near future. That may actually be the real plan from the beginning. Especially since the anti's are now talking about other types of predators being introduced to further decimate deer populations.

The Outdoor Life article also says spring hunting of yotes works. It actually verifies yotes kill fawns in spring by recommending fewer does be taken in coyote areas during deer season. Know why? More does will produce more fawns and more of them will survive. i'd suggest shooting more yotes in spring is better than taking fewer does. Hunters want to shoot a deer during deer season. The yotes have no food value.

I assume you failed to read the whole article. It specifically stated hunting yotes in the spring is needed to keep them in check and limit fawn loses. NY only allows fall hunting for yotes which according to the article is a mistake when trying to protect deer numbers. NY is doing it wrong because it is getting pressure from a lot of anti hunting groups as well as misinformed hunters and animal lovers. Yotes are predators. That's what they do. And they do it with extreme prejudice. We are letting them become a huge problem while ignoring all the evidence of their effects on deer numbers.

Coyote control is addressed in that article too. It proves the hunting seasons for yotes in NY actually increase coyote populations, because they only allow yote hunting in the fall months. Coyotes ARE having a big effect on deer numbers in NY because they kill fawns in the spring when they are feeding their pups.

For all those who think predators are not a problem and will balance wildlife naturally, the pipe dream of the anti-hunting groups that having wildlife controlled by predators will work, never works! I've taken many deer when it was raining. Rain makes noise so the deer can't hear as well. Rain often has wind as well. That's also a noise maker, but it makes things move too. That helps cover your moves. It makes the leaves quite, so you can stalk or still hunt without making noise. It makes it harder for deer to smell you too. Hunting deer in the rain can be very productive.

They see the worst side of humanity... the raped children, the bloody mangled bodies of traffic victims, the bruised and battered victims of domestic violence, homicide victims, body parts... day after day. They work holidays while we have festive meals with our families. They miss school events with their kids, birthdays, anniversaries, all those special occasions that we take for granted. They work in all types of weather, under dangerous conditions, for relatively low pay. They have extensive training, but they are human. When there are numerous attacks on them, they become hyper vigilant for a reason, they have become targets. When a police officer encounters any person... any person, whether at a traffic stop, a street confrontation, an arrest, whatever... that situation has the potential to become life threatening. You, Mr & Mrs/Miss Civilian, also have the responsibility of keeping the situation from getting out of control. Many law enforcement officers are Veterans. They've been in service to this nation most of their lives, whether on the battlefield or protecting us here at home. They are the only thing that stands between us and anarchy in the streets. If you want to protect your child, teach them respect. If you want them to get shot by a cop, teach them to hate cops and be non-compliant when in their presence.

My old Marlin 336 (1966 vintage) in .35 Remington is my favorite lever gun. i have a few of them. I also have a Marlin 1893 in .30-30 with the 24" barrel that still shoots 2" groups at 100 yards with the original open sights. I also have a Rossi Heritage Model .357 magnum that's fun to shoot and can be used on deer if the shots are kept within 75 yards. If I were advising a newbie on a lever gun for deer, I'd strongly advise the 336 in .35 Remington and I'd suggest looking at an older one in good condition.
